I would like the distance to "E" to show up with the digital speed. Any clue how to achieve this?

Right ! That is only the way to view it? I would like both to show on the same screen.
I believe so. Us XLT people got the shaft on the display!

Yea the XLT display should be the Lariat displays and the Lariat displays should be the nice ones full screen versions they use in the Escapes. Hopefully this changes with the "refresh".

I'm hoping Ford adopts the Google Automotive System. I think they have in one or two vehicles (or maybe it was Lincoln). SYNC is substandard, regardless of generation. Just a few of many articles.

I've seen the Google automotive OS in action on newer Volvos. It is great. Don't confuse with Android Auto - this is not the same thing. And Google Automotive doesn't require gigantic displays or anything like the second link shows - very adaptable to different budgets. So it won't lead to price increases. Maybe price decreases, as Ford fires a whole bunch of software engineers?

I believe some of the auto manufacturers plan on a monthly subscription fee to use Google Automotive. I am not interested in that. GM announced they may be going that route or a similar route, for a monthly subscription fee.

I'm sticking with android auto. Havn't had any problems. Google maps works fine. Can select my music, etc. Worked the same with my 2015 Prius.

While I agree with others on gigantic company intrusiveness, it's also one of the few that I actually use. Can't win all those battles. At this point, our entire identities is a joke anyways, so having my bookmarks synced and one account for everything is kinda nice lol.

It was a big reason why I was interested in the new GM's because they are using a Google setup too. Cuts out the need for android auto crap and just uses Google maps. GM is even ditching carplay and android auto in favor of the google setup - because both just use google maps and presets anyways. Not sure I agree with it entirely, but if it's already there then what's the point of carplay and AA? If you can download the same apps via googles play store anyways...

Either way, it would be a massive improvement over SYNC garbage.

Not everyone uses Android, so it's a big turn off. Don't use Google maps either.

I suspect we are edging closer and close to a lease only model with new vehicles anyway.

Agree.
The simplification will save a lot of tech support calls to Ford and trips to dealer service departments, that currently have to deal with 3 navigation & infotainment systems.

As for privacy concerns, there is little online privacy. People who think their data is secure because they're using a certain OS, are fools.

I kind of like the aftermarket 250$ deck in my 87’ bronco with Apple car play !
Absolutely never had to take it to dealer or any extra effort .
Old school , low tech , love it wish manufacturers would have just done this route!6 speakers 2 10” subs and way better than any new stereo/ navigation /text on my dash thingy!
Just haven’t found that much use to have Netflix or other apps in my car. I usually get out of the car by then and go do something.no privacy or profits for big corporation problems then.
Lol

And you know damn well that the main motivator for GM making these changes is to collect more subscription fees (either via their new infotainment or to support Android Auto/CarPlay). I'm certain other manufacturers will follow suit too.
