Got caught in heavy rain, slid shade cover back and glass was wet with some drips of water at back of glass, , basically first time caught in a heavy Fl. downpour. No drip or stain inside on ceiling, anyone ever notice, it’s a 23, had since new , but undercover, so doesn’t see weather. But since a downpour did some checking. If it did drip , it probably just end up on topside shade cover , anyone ever notice?

The only thing I appreciate about sunroofs is. You can usually raise the back to the vent position and get nice even air flow throughout the car with one window open.

There are drain pipes that get clogged with pollen and dust. Being that you cover yours, probably built up and needs to be blown out. At the front corners are the drain plugs, they drain through the door

Me: '24 Lariat hybrid w/sunroof = admittedly I don't get nearly the amount of rain the OP gets but I checked and there is no indication of a leak.

Check that the drain holes are clear of debris, then do a water test in your driveway. Slide the sunshade back and have someone spray water over the roof while you are inside looking for water intrusion. If you see debris in the track etc, try to vacuum the debris up, don't flush them down the drain hole.

I use my sunroof in conjunction with the electric sliding rear window so it is opened and closed frequently. I get amazing ventilation without the need to use A/C.

Just by venting the sunroof and opening the rear slider you get a nice airflow! We are already getting 90 degree temps and I haven’t felt the need to use the AC yet either!!

I think you mean the Door Pillars or "A" pillars. I have had problems with various models over the years. If water gets trapped someplace in those draining tubes, it will find its way to the to the cars floor near the fire wall. In some you will have water under the carpet insulation, which will not dry out easily. It can be difficult to clear up these blockages. These are very narrow tubes and the drain holes are small. I have used vacuuming up first then pressure down if not successful. I have even used a narrow flexible wire when necessary.
Not yet a problem on my lovely Mav, but perhaps as a precautionary measure I will try to find an appropriate screen on top of the drain plug.

Look on Amazon, but you'll want a long enough thin piece of wire with a small scrub brush style end to clear out any accumulated crap in your drain tubes usually there's two at the front.

Many videos on YouTube of this singular problem afterwards you can pour a small cup of water down the tubes to see if that fix the issue you should see the water drain from wheel well area, as the drain tubes run under the headliner and through your a pillars normally down behind your front wheel wells.

My 12, 23 and 32 year old cars all have sunroofs and none of them have ever leaked. They're all Japanese though, Ford better not disappoint me! 😅
For years dealt with leaking Detroit inspired stamped steel valve cover and gaskets, those made with cork.

Then we got a Toyota. When valve cover removed, it was cast aluminum and flange has a O-ring groove. That valve cover NEVER leaked. Better engineering.

So why bother posting if you're not going to contribute anything?
