'23 Hybrid, 43k miles. Get off work one night, truck throws Powertrain Malfunction, Reduced Power, Service Engine errors at me through the FordPass app.
Well I'm outside the bumper to bumper warranty, but still inside the Powertrain warranty, and that's where the errors are, so we good, right? Limp it to the dealership, drop it off.
They call me two days later, tell me the 12v battery has gone bad, not enough power on the 12v system causing sensors to malfunction and produce phantom errors. The fix is to replace 12v battery and reset BMS. Bad battery not covered under powertrain warranty, so that'll be $812 please.
I tell them politely to pound sand. Still charged me a $400 diagnostic fee. Spent $200 on a new battery and swapped it out and reset the BMS in 20min. So I'm still up $200 I guess? But the truck is still in limp mode.
How should I proceed? Can I get the truck out of limp mode with some kind of cheat code (like the BMS reset) or an ODB device I could get off the Internet?
So frustrated with Ford right now.
