I upgraded the sound system in my 2025 Maverick XLT.

The stock system is really not great and after the first 2 weeks I just couldn't take it anymore so I did some shopping. Went with the popular choice of Kicker 46CSC674 in the doors and Kicker 46CSC44 in the rear pillars. That improved the sound quality immensely but I still needed to fill out the low end. For that I installed a Rockford Fosgate R2D4 10" (Upgraded from the RF for more lower end response and better power handling) Kicker CompRT 48CWRT104 sub hooked up to an Alpine MRV-M500. I custom built the enclosure to fit the under seat storage cubby which was an absolute PITA due to the dimensions but I think the final product turned out better than expected. The amp is overkill for the sub but I have the gain cranked down and also have a remote bass knob for further tweaking.

Overall, an amazing upgrade and a much more enjoyable listening experience.

I'm not into audio whatever but I wouldn't be opposed to replacing the door speakers with a better option if the install was simple and didn't require splicing or cutting. Plug and play.

I keep the seat down. I made the custom grille you see in the photo to keep the underside of the seat from touching the sub.

The door speakers are pretty simple to replace and if you order through Crutchfield they will throw in the speaker mounting adapters and wire adapters for free. Literally plug and play. There are videos on YouTube on how to pull off the door skin if your interested.

This is my first "proper" stereo in over 20 years myself. I'm not the bass head I was when I was young but I do like loud and clean sounding music.

That Rockford is the same shallow mount sub that came in the setup I bought for my F-150, within a week I replaced it with the kicker Comp RT, no regrets at all. I still use it and the alpine class D amp 8 years later in my Maverick.

Edit:my previous R2 rf is a different sub from yours.

I think though Rockford sub and shallow mount box combo was 120.00 on Amazon, The Kicker dvc cost me 119.00

I know your new setup sounds three time better than the OEM stereo.

If you order from Crutchfield like most do as well as myself. They include the speaker mounting adapters needed for the front doors as well as the Metra wire harnesses that install on the speaker to the factory speaker connector, so you don't have to cut or splice any wires.

Makes it simple plug and play for the dash tweeters, the door speakers and the rear pillar speakers as well.

They included all at no additional cost, when you purchase your speakers through them.

Agreed about the Alpine amp. From all the research I've done it seems like a gem of an amp. I ran Alpine stuff in my cars 25 years ago and they've never let me down.

I agree it's amazing the difference that cloth tape makes everything look more OEM and not stand out as aftermarket.

Totally agree with you Toddman45. I did a total Crutchfield upgrade on my 2015 Prius that I owned. Virtually plug and play. And what a difference in sound!

Saving up to do the speakers in my Maverick. Can't wait.

No real difference with the seat up vs down from my ears atleast. I suppose it wouldn't really make much difference since it's only low tones from the sub which travel well.

I tapped into the front speakers under the head unit behind the vents as I've read that the rear speakers have limited low end frequency from the factory head unit. Basically they cut the bass out for the rear due to the speakers being on 4".

I just got my 2025 mav ECO yesterday and noticed the sound is not that good. Volume is ok for me, but the stock system sounds boxy and cheap.

That's pretty much exactly how I felt. Volume level was ok but it sounded hollow and lacked any detail in the high end. I listen to the music on 20 and that's plenty of volume for me. In fact the replacement speakers play a little louder then stock at the same volume level and I believe this is due to their higher sensitivity.
