Today, I was packing the rear seat area for only our second road trip in the Mav after almost having it 16 months. I discovered bonus hidden storage areas (both sides) extending out toward the doors under the plastic moulding providing a surprising amount of hidden storage. Not real good for large hard objects, but great for smaller flexible things. Can free up space in rest of area depending on what you have there.

Hmmm. I am familiar with the area that you speak of.
Hypothetically, is the area large enough to store something of the 9mm variety held in place with a magnetic mount? possibly covered with a grease rag?

I know it’s not large enough for storage of a full size Trunk Monkey.
…just sayin’.

I may be American, but even I know that something slightly less than a centimeter isn't all that big.

Yeah, I was able to cram my 12V air compressor into that area. The main down side is that you have to remove a lot of the stuff directly under the seat to get access to it. If I ever get a flat, there will be a lot of cussin' for sure. Still, more space is always better for us packrats. Between the bed cubbies (I have one in each side), the area behind the rear seatback, each side under the back seat, the center console, door pockets and glove box, I had to make up a list of what crap I have and where the heck I put it! That lives in the glove box, of course.... and has actually been useful. LOL

I keep a folding umbrella in mine.
By the time I would get out of the truck. Open the rear door, lift up the rear seat push the stuff aside reach into the hidden cubby. I would be drenched.

I think there might be some confusion.
I believe the OP meant the semi concealed area under the rear seat.
The way the plastic rear seat tray is formed there are small areas that are somewhat hidden. Pictures below👇👇👇👇

I pretty sure that waterick is referring to the side of the storage area under the seat not under the seat.... I use that area to store my trailer hitch....perfect fit....

Yes, I guarantee there is confusion, and not just me. Pics are helpful. Thanks.

Are you sure? There doesn't seem to be anything hidden about that area if you can provide a picture with what you're referring to it would be nice.
"Waterrick" specifically said in his post hidden

Perhaps "Waterrick" will see this post and respond.
