Made a roll-up hail cover using pool noodles and paracord. In central Texas, we get hail regularly in spring, so needed something to cover it, since my garage is full. 😉

How does this not blow of in the wind? Are you attaching to the truck somehow?

Do you carry it with you when you have room in case you run into a storm and cannot find an overpass to get under????? This is definitely thinking outside the box. You really used your "noodle" on this one!!!! I suppose one of our online vendors will offer it soon.... with some modifications! 😁 AND a high price.....

That’s genius, BDozer.

I was thinking of buying a cheap, stretchy car cover and cutting some styrofoam siding boards from HD to shove under the cover, but I haven’t done it yet.
Unfortunately, it’s starting to hail a tiny bit tonight and I am watching my truck sitting naked in the driveway.
😟

Reminds me of 2008. Just picked up my brand new Honda Fit. Hail started which is not typical in my area. Looked for a bridge to hide under. None around. Got under a large tree. Used umbrella were it didn't cover. No dents.
Good idea if hail is typical.

I thought of making some sort of hail protection. But I had a Eureka moment and I realized I should just donate/toss some accumulated possessions I would've never used again, and use the garage for what it was originally intended to be used for. Parking a vehicle out of the weather.

Of course that was of no help when I was away from home and got caught in a hail-infested thunderstorm. Amazingly, the dents were sparse and the worst ones were not in the aluminum hood.

I love the idea. Looks like it will help greatly reducing the number of them that get through, still some gaps and possibly get the sides if at an angle, but looks like it will stop a majority of them. and fairly cheap to produce as well! Very nice!

Unfortunately, just to your North here in Georgetown, it’s starting to hail a tiny bit tonight and I am watching my truck sitting naked in the driveway.

I read your last sentence wrong. Who’s naked? 😶

I like your style 😜 and feel your pain. What if you split that in half and did it side to side. You could overlap the edge's better maybe.
