While we're making light of this misfortune, I guess we can add potential aerodynamic benefits such as those on on a dimpled golf ball.
That's what I told the wife when she asked if we were still going to take it on the road trip. I told her we would be getting even better gas mileage now.

Got hit by hail last night. Ended up with about 2 inches on the ground. Quarter or ping pong sized. Only had it for 5 weeks so far. Now, can we find parts. No sense getting it fixed, another round coming over the next 12 hours.

Sorry it happened. It hurt to see the pock marks. Then I thought : "Wear it Proud!" You'll always have a story.

I had a 2001 Towne Car that got hail damaged, it looked like a golf ball, and I used chunks of dry ice to get the dents out of the hood, roof, and trunk. Wait till a hot day and drop a chunk of dry ice in the center of the dent and they pop out

So sorry to see this. Just thinking out loud, but with today's technology one would think there's a shell-like cover that would prevent or minimize the damage from hail. Obviously, storing it in a garage, but not everyone can do that. Again, sorry to see that happen to your vehicle.
Old carpet padding I bet would do the trick.

Please let us know what the insurance company lets you buy it back for.

Something to that effect. Only problem would be how to easily secure it. But I like your thinking.

After being out of town for a while, I had a chance to get it in for an estimate. The grand total is in. Reskinning the entire left side, hood and roof. PDR on right side and replace the windshield. Grand total, $14,056. Insurance said fix it, so in it goes. Because I was late to the race, it will be end of June till they can get me in so I will be driving around in my golf ball until then. Thats OK, other than running to Lowes this morning it will be sitting in the driveway the rest of the week as we enter motorcycle season. Sunny and upper 80's all week so I will be on one of the bikes anyway.

I was expecting you to say that you were going to not drive your maverick on the road during motorcycle season🥰😂
