- Android Auto / Spotify runs a lot smoother. It's almost like there's more RAM available after the update for these programs to connect faster and run better.
- It reset my seatbell chime, now I have to re-do it
- Some people said it reset the backup cam setting to a 2-3 second delay if you previously had it set to no delay
- The infotainment screen is much brighter

That's good to hear about the screen brightness. I've always thought on my 2022, even on a sunny day with the brightness all the way up, it's still too dim.

Great observations and feedback. Thanks 👍.

I have my delay set in the winter cause that is when I am pulling a trailer. Delay helps when you have to go back into drive to better align the ball to the trailer.

That was the from-the-factory default setting. I'm assuming it gives you time to look around before the camera appeared
I think you mean disappears.
Meaning the screen image when you shift from reverse to drive.
When shifting from Park or drive to reverse there should be no lag in the time to when the image from the backup camera displays on the screen.
When shifting from Reverse to Drive you can set a delay for the backup camera to stay engaged while driving forward till you reach 5mpg.

Unless you're driving a 2025 which you can turn your rear view camera on at any time while driving forward

I've always wondered about this setting as well, and that makes sense. So, does the delay setting only affect the time that it takes the camera view to switch back to the infotainment screen after shifting out of reverse? EDIT: I see that @Glen Baker LLC already answered this, thanks!

I believe there is a specification that must be met for the maximum amount of time it takes to activate the camera view when shifting into reverse.

Great news on things running smoother and a brighter screen. Now for the $64,000 question, is your backup camera image more stable now?

These were much needed software updates that Ford NEVER would have spent the time and money to do without Uncle Sugar on their ass. Excellent.

Oh, I misunderstood the meaning of "delay" here! I was thinking it was a built-in lag in the video stream, which of course makes no sense.

Why would anyone ever want a delay on the camera?
Here are a couple more reasons:
- Sometimes I shift out of R into neutral and coast to a stop before shifting into D.
- Other times I'm backing into a parking spot and want my rear bumper just in front of the line behind me. The delay helps me see that line if I overshoot and have to pull forward.
I'm sure there are more situations like these.

Is it still Sync 2.5 or was it upgraded to Sync 3?

I find it useful to have the camera stay on for a few seconds when ai put the truck in drive. I assume that's what they meant (not a delay turning the camera on, which is more or less what the recall was about!)

The camera is definitely much smoother.
I always used the delay so no change there; ditto the seatbelt chime. (Also, what is the change and how do you do it?) I'll have to watch the AA. It's boot up time has always varied, but it was fast yesterday so I'll have to watch more closely.
At any rate, the recall process was painless. Local dealer called me to schedule a mobile fix, arrived on time, and took <20 minutes.
