So we aren’t getting the recalls done?

Judging by all these trucks going limp after getting the software recalls, is it safe to say to hold off on getting the updates? Must say it’s quite concerning that this is happening to so many people.
I had two recalls done in my driveway a month ago. The local Ford Dealer sent a technician to my house, and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

What do you mean by it’s surging? It wasn’t doing that before the recall? Did you say anything to ford about it?

I have a 2022 Hybrid that got the software update and no issues in the month or two since. Mine was built in late May 2022, in case we can narrow it down to a certain set of months. I am unhappy about the "surging" that my truck now does when stopped in the first 15 minutes or so of driving, but it has not died/gone into limp mode at highway speeds .

Got my recalls done, and MPG seems up since then. No issues, and just got back from a 2,000 mile trip.

Glad you had no issues. Safety? Mine became unsafe with loss of power 4x on the interstate before I could get to my dealership.
Well I didn't say they are trying to create unsafe conditions- that's just a nasty mistake.

The original recall was to fix a different 'safety issue'- of the possibility of the truck catching fire, I think....

Just on this forum there has been over a half-dozen reports (and probably more that I missed). Statistically probably a small number but the consequences are pretty drastic. They all basically say the same thing: driving down the road at highway speed, the cluster lights up like a Christmas tree, and the truck looses all power. Most report it happening within 1-2 weeks of getting the software patch done. While many have been 22's, I can remember at least 2 or 3 that were 23's. This seems to be specific to the Hybrid (don't think I have heard anyone report about it on an Ecoboost).
Sounds like a hybrid only issue. My Ecoboost hasn't had any problems (knock on cheap blue plastic). I have to go looking for things I don't like. After I got a OBD2 connection cord & Forscan I've disabled Stop/Start and seat belt chimes & the graphic that has you select ok and a few other annoyances.

About 1 month ago, I had an oil change and 2 recalls addressed. These were for the turn signal thing and something to do with the powertrain? Anyway, I've had 0 issues...

23 Hybrid is going to need her next oil change in a couple thousand miles, was going to wait and get the recalls done then. Figured they should have any bugs ironed out by late spring.

Can you please give us the update that were done so we can track to see which update may have cause it? My VIN# didn't require the PCM recall update. I have a 2023 Hybrid. I have had the cluster and tailight. Not the PCM recall.
I am not sure, I got something in the mail about the blinker recall, and when they called me to schedule the fix, they said there was that and two software updates, I said ok we might as well get them done. It was done on 2/26, and I think it was the most recent one. If you had your recalls done before that, the problem software probably wasn't available yet. He told me on the phone what the code was for the problem yesterday, but I don't remember. He called me today with an update and said Ford expects a fix next week. Hopefully he is right, and it is a real fix.

My truck was made late August.

This why I ask the question. Recalls are done based on VIN#'s (when they were built) so it doesn't matter when you got your recall, its based on when your truck was manufactured. Secondly, my VIN# isn't included in this PCM update. I have a XLT 2023 Hybrid and I am trying to narrow down the year, VIN# and if this problem includes the Ecoboost trucks.

The number shall be three. Because four is too many and two is not enough.
Too funny! It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, but I'd swear he said four was "way out!". :ROFLMAO:

I agree with some on here, it's hard to know what to think with only the information we have.

Someone should create a poll to see how many have 1) Had updates on their hybrid and had issues 2) Had updates on their Hybrid and had no issues 3) Had updates on their EB and had issues 4) etc, etc.

Maybe one for "no updates"

Might get a better sense of how widespread the problems are.

I have an appointment for my turn signal recall and still plan on going, but am curious as others on whether the problem is widespread or blow out of proportion, count wise.

Obviously, the problem isn't blown out of proporation for those who's trucks are having some serious issues now. :(

This pops up every now and then on my dashboard. I always push the fuel door shut after each fill up. This warning doesn’t pop up until a few days after I fill it up. I took it to the local Ford dealer, and they couldn’t duplicate the problem.

Had the same thing on my 22 hybrid the other day, it went away after clicking ok and hasn't come back so far.
