I'm another one who hasn't experienced the issue and am in no rush to get the recall done. I'll probably wait until the next time I need to bring the truck in for something else.

I understand they have a fix, are they able to start selling them as soon as it is updated?

You trust the ones who broke it to fix it? I will wait and see what the new issues are after the fix is in. Please post any new issues from the camera update.

I understand from a dealer perspective why they'd want to focus on these stale '24's so they can get them sold. But I think its crap that the manufacturer allows their support network to focus on unsold vehicles over already delivered vehicles with a potential safety defect.
My local dealer called me about an hour ago to schedule the remote service for Friday morning. (Not even the dealer I bought it from, but much closer to me )

Yes. Once they are fixed, the delivery hold is lifted.

If you have one and don't get it fixed, Ford dealerships will still be required to fix them before they can then resell them. Non-Ford dealerships are supposed to do the same but obviously doesn't have the enforcement mechanism in place as first-party dealers.

Uhm… yes? That’s how software engineering works. It’s much more time and cost efficient to have the team that wrote the offending code to fix it than to bring in an outside team that needs to learn what is in the code first, and then go fix it.

🤓 The fix might be out, but don’t we have to wait till we get noticed from FORD the parts are available? 🤔

The recall fix is out and here are some facts you need to know about it. Before the recall can be performed, your battery needs to be at 100% charge. The recall takes 1 hour to perform using the FDRS tool. With this in mind, give your dealer time to perform them and schedule them. We will be 2 weeks out to schedule one at our dealership because we have 86 Mavericks that will need to be done first. These can be done via mobile service, which we will be able to do for our customers within 30 miles of the dealership.

I will doing a video for our Maverick Monday video series going over this and our 2024 Maverick inventory that now is available to sell as of today.
I have owned my truck for a year and a half now and I do not believe my battery has been at 100% since the day I bought it. One possible exception may be the day I got the original battery replaced under warranty.

Now mind you, the truck never fails to start and runs great but my barometer on the state of charge is whether the A.S.S. works and it rarely does.

Sounds like the wait time may be a bit long while waiting for the battery to get charged.

Do you know if this will erase forscan settings? Tks
I would assume anything related to settings for the infotainment system would get reset, but other stuff should be fine. What changes did you make?

It needs to be charged up enough for it to be on for 1 hour that the FDRS needs to perform the software update.
