Edit… it’s the XLT for the win …

Looking to make a purchase off a lot. My daughter will need a vehicle within the next week or so. One dealer has a 25 velocity blue xlt now and another dealer has a space white xl on the way about 1-2 weeks out. Both are hybrids and have only the copilot 360 option. The XLT is about 2k more. We could probably make it week or two without a buy but getting the truck sooner rather than later is a plus.

so…. Looking for good reasons to spend the extra 2k for the 25 xlt or do we wait 2 weeks and get the 25 xl and save $. Assume we’re not really worried about the appearance so don’t care about the wheels or the colors. We need to make a decision tomorrow I think. Okay with the xlt if it makes sense. Thanks.

You should never buy on impulse but the XLT - assuming no other differences only adds Keyless Entry and push button start. Not worth 2k if you don't care about the wheels, slight interior colors, and no other option packages.

On the other hand dealers are always ready to negotiate price if you're ready to take home that day. So you could get it for less than the $2j difference.

Since both have the two things you need ( hybrid & copilot), you don't mind rims, color, and small differences between XLT and XL, and you can wait until the XL, I suggest the XL. New driver and save 2K, which will buy a lot of gas for the hybrid, would be my choice. But trust your gut, not mine and good luck!

Thanks. I was looking at the interiors… the xlt has 2 tone seats but wonder if it is just color or if they’re nicer. Also looks like rear seat has center armrest

The only reason i bought a xlt in 2022 was to get factory crusie control.personally now ,since cruise comes on xl i would buy it .even so,i would also try to get one with factory installed trailor hitch for 100$.i was only looking for basic transprtation and i love this little truck.i would also get ecoboost engine.have had no problems but hate the rotating knob shifter !

Up front I'll point out that I own a Lariat and have never driven either XL or XLT. My questions would be if the XLT has more interior sound insulation. That would make a big difference for anyone who has to spend much time behind the wheel. If you can compare the actual differences between the XL and XLT you may find that there are enough additional practical improvements to the XLT to make it worth the difference. The XLT may also be worth more when it comes time to sell or trade in.

Get insurance quotes for both. Part of the calculation for insurance rates is value of vehicle. XL may have slightly lower insurance rate.

I'd personally hate not having that hitch receiver option, but I wouldn't pay $2K extra just to have it. I vote XL Hybrid. My daughter has one and the only options are CoPilot 360 and the hitch receiver. She loves it! We actually prefer the black seats on the XL. Good luck!

The 2025 XL Hybrid is no longer worth it ! With the XL you need to get the copilot option that cost $795 to get power mirrors which is a must have. Also, do NOT get an XL without the $100 hitch, a must have for resale. By the time you get these 2 must have options just get the 2025 XLT hybrid, you get much more. Again, this advice is for 2025 models as prices for the XL is no longer the way to go.........................................

Good Luck !

Power tailgate lock unlock using your remote comes in handy if you are using a bed cover. With new changes in the 2025 XL wire harness it is now more expensive and more difficult to add.

Thanks, we got an updated quote on the xlt and it’s only about $1400 more out the door ( had not factored in farm bureau) she’s is going for the bright blue xlt on the lot vs the white xl maybe 2 weeks out.

I think both are a good deal and would serve her well. I appreciate the input… we’ll pick it up Saturday.

now if only MY lariat would arrive!

It’s time to lie your ass off right now.
They do it all the time.
Tell them you’ll take the XLT right now for $1,900 less because you got $100 holding one at another dealer ready to go.
Tell them you came back because you like this color slightly better.
If he don’t bite move on.

Unless you already spilled the beans about your time frame.
If so you loose.
