Haha. Yep, I thought the 20 Maverick was as ugly as ugly can get. I was so wrong. That is one butt ugly Hyundai!lol.... that's one way to make the front of the '25 Maverick look better....Hyundai's current design language is just gawd-awful....

Guy in video is saying this is a 2025 AWD Hybrid, which it appears to be. He is saying has 2.0 L engine. 2:49 into video.
lol.... what do you think the Maverick is? Ford just did a better job making it look like a truck.Sorry, but to me the Santa Cruz is just an SUV with a short bed put on where the hatch back was cut out.
I guess it’s all that’s out there and is closer to the Maverick than anything else but it’s very far from a truck.
a poor comparison to me.
I’m waiting for Honda to chop the back end off an Accord next.
Bad Idea.
It is a truck, everything’s in the right place. They couldn’t name it the Escape truck. It’s the size of the original rangers.lol.... what do you think the Maverick is? Ford just did a better job making it look like a truck.![]()
I think we saw two different philosophies at play. Ford went for the more traditional truck look because they have the truck heritage. Hyundai doesn't, so they went with something more "stylish" and lifestyle focused.Sorry, but to me the Santa Cruz is just an SUV with a short bed put on where the hatch back was cut out.

I see cohesive design elements throughout Hyundai lineup. After several models I now identify the designs with Hyundai. Hyundai labels Santa Cruz as sport adventure vehicle. I label it a truck. It's more of a lifestyle vehicle. Maverick is more traditional. Much more closely aligned with truck buyers expectations.I think we saw two different philosophies at play. I grew up in Southeast Asia & just realized, I think Santa Cruz is styled for the Asian market. It is a truck, everything’s in the right place. They couldn’t name it the Escape truck. It’s the size of the original rangers.
The Santa Cruz looks just like all the Chinese/Japanese stuff
Your correct, Ford did a much better job of building a mini truck.
I disagree, Roman and tfl do interesting and informative videos. This time Roman did make a mistake about hybrid is 2.0.God this guy is dreadful. Don't give up your day job.
