My XLT LUX shows cruise (old school not adaptive cruise like lariat has)!
Correct, the old school cruise is great with me. I do like the adaptive in the expedition on a long highway trip, but for everyday use its not worth the cost in the Mav for me. Now if it was a option to add under $1k I would think about it.

Perhaps when Ford figures out a way to get around the idiot city zoneing etc limitations imposed by state laws that limits who can be a dealer and under what conditions they can operate. We will have to buy under those rules. Like in Texas there may be 10 Ford dealers they have to be x feet/miles from another Ford dealer. And only one franchisee can operate in that area

I ended up with a Lariat Lux but it really does depend upon what you want/need in your budget. This is a vehicle that I plan to have for a while, so the upgrades made sense for me. Best of luck in your decision.

This is my dilemma. I really want leather seats this time. But i kinda would prefer black. But i also really would love push to start and the electric rear window. I could add the leather and I’m sure i can rig something up for the rear window. But i gotta drive a maverick first and even see how i like it in person.

If you want leather, the Maverick isn't the truck for you because those seats are not leather. 😉

They're very comfortable and look way better in real life. I also would have preferred a black interior.

i know it’s not real leather but close enough. I like them but have a preference obviously.
I have a 21 F150 and love the push to start. My 19 Rav4 doesn’t so I’m used to keys. I went base on this cause it’s got car play and it’s meant for good mpg. The Rav4 will be going away as i won’t be on the road as much and want a fun vehicle and the Maverick will be able to be modified as that what i like to do. The sliding rear window I’ve never had until this F150 and i love it. I use it all the time for air flow. So a manual one just seems so lame. Like really Ford? Honestly push to start and this rear window are why i May go lariat. That’s a lot to money for these things. I can live without them but do i?

There are companies out there that will install cruise on most modern vehicles for far less than $1000. Check around...

I went with the lariat lux in the 2.0. So far it’s great. Even though it’s their highest trim level, it’s by no means luxury. Materials are super cheap.

I like the package contents of the XLT with the luxury package more than the base lariat, and a lariat with lux gets too close in price to mid/full size trucks for me to justify. I'm also not a fan of sliding rear windows.

My two cents, anyway.

They want you to buy the lux package for the heated mirrors because real trucks don't need a rear defroster or even a rear view mirror. Let's take some time to appreciate the irony of paying people too much to spec and price trims and packages for a budget truck.

IMHO the price of this truck is so cheap at any trim level you should get the Lariat Lux and enjoy all the toys. Everything below that is a penalty box in regards to features so it’s up to you what you can and can’t live with. ( thanks captain obvious )

However, and this sounds contradictory to what I said above, but at the end of the day it really is just a duded-up $20k truck and it’s nice, but it’s certainly not luxurious. You have the same powertrain, interior plastics and touch points as the lowest end model so don’t think you’re going to be sitting in a high end vehicle.

I really like my Lariet lux and actually really like the desert brown and blue. I don’t think of blue much at all when I’m sitting in it.

"Real trucks" like the F-150s that start at 30k and top out well over double that?

So why are so many folks spending money on the Lariat, Platinum, or King Ranch when all they need is a "real truck" in the plain ole XL?
