We had camp for 12 yrs. First with a TT camper, then later upgraded to fifth wheel unit. In fact had 2 of fifth wheel. Towed them with F250 diesel. I keep entertaining a small TT to tow with the Mav. Wife says NO!

Had numerous travel trailers/ campers . My camping days are over . overpriced camp grounds , obnoxious new campers and need reservations . Not for me anymore . Hotels are the best deal going for me right now . easier to cancel without cost if something comes up or plans change . camping was good while it lasted for me .

We feel same way. Age creep upon us. Agreed if traveled, would drive vehicle, do hotels. Mind set to travel on cruises, but mostly on rivers, and Alaska. Forget the ocean cruises, too many people falling overboard, or dying. Personally I’ve never been on any cruises, unless want to consider riding crewboats in S Louisiana on the Mississippi River, or in Gulf of America getting to offshore oil n gas production platforms. Even ride crew boat in Gulf off Saudi Arabia. Been wanting to go to Alaska since2 yrs ago, but 95 yo MiL pinning us down.

If confirmed it's more proof the hybrids haul more than advertised.
THese campers weight 650 and 750 lbs respectively... optioned out they are at about 900lbs.

Maverick Hybrid has a 1500lb payload limit... so seems well in the advertised range... Am I missing something from your comment?

Missing the nuances....

80 MPH road speed combined with 20-25 MPH variable head and cross winds combined with 3% and 4% uphill grades in this area.

With that aero drag, I'd say, VERY CAPABLE HYBRID.

Wouldn't you?

A 1500 lb Maverick payload is mostly for sales propaganda. You have to deduct all your options and for example, a hybrid AWD tow package, the payload is down to under 1300 lbs. And you have to deduct the driver and passenger weight from there.

It may have a tent extension that attaches to the rear and allows for much more room for camping.

Roger that, I was just explaining why it is not 1500 lbs in most cases. I would have thought they would have just upped the GVWR a small amount to give you the 1500 rating.

We are looking at the scout for when we get our maverick. We ARE getting a 4k turbo fx4 or tremor. We have the f150 now and its too damn big. I like the fact that you have everything already to go just stop and open the door, no set up etc.
