That's awesome! Nice work. Way to get out and after it!
I tow close to 2000 pds regularly with my Hybrid. It does really well.

I am sure there are a lot of opinions regarding towing with Hybrid Mavericks, but thought I would share that it is possible to build a light weight camper loaded at 1600 lbs.

My wife and I like to camp at northern Michigan National and State campgrounds during the summer. I started with an ALL aluminum 6ft x 13ft enclosed cargo empty under 1000 lbs. I designed the interior to be as versatile as possible with fold down table and working shelf, along with a functioning RV toilet and sink with fresh water and black water tanks. ( You do need to add the trailer axle lift kits for water tank clearance, bought from the axle manufacturer or Amazon )Added built in microwave, Bluetooth audio and LED lighting. It also has AC unit and power exhaust fan. I can connect to AC and have AC/DC converter. It also can run off DC from truck or additional battery. It also has two large RV sliding screened windows.

For sleeping we use two folding camping cots from Amazon, which can be stowed out of way for open seating area for four or used as couch during day use. Seating at fold up table for two. Heat is supplied by 1500 watt ceramic electric heater when connected to AC. I designed the trailer to be as versatile as possible with the capability to use as cargo trailer when needed. Food is stored in cooler stored in truck bed for on the go picnics.

Loaded for camping it weighed on scales at 1630 lbs. I have towed in both the "Towing Mode" and "Normal Mode", I prefer Normal Mode when towing and gas MPG varies from 19 to 23 MPG (computed not dash) towing. I tow at speeds 70 MPH or less preferring back roads at 60 MPH. The truck does not really feel the trailer when towing but I do refrain from heavy acceleration. For my Maverick Hybrid with 2000 lb limit it works for the two of us. I don't have mountains but have areas of steep incline and it does well. Price of project $12,000. Its compact like the truck but functional for our summer get a ways. Retired and enjoying life!

Very nice!

If you add a showerhead to make it a wet bath, I'd buy one! 👍🏻

Nice build. The weight is good, but frontal area is over Ford's recommended limit. Just keep your power meter below 50% and you won't hurt anything. Keeping it below 70MPH is smart.

Nice build! I appreciate you putting the cost in there. I have been thinking about doing something similar, but I may opt for an old, small tent trailer instead to stay lower budget.

Safe travels on the road!

Started my rig from scratch, seven years ago to be pulled with the PriusV. I've added 800 watts of solar to the roof with a 2KW power bank, estimated weight is 1300 lbs, we have two beds, top flips up to allow seating on bottom bunk, have Bluetooth stereo, 32 inch TV with sound bar, galley has microwave, cube refer, and either a hot plate or a gas stove and air conditioner, we've been able to get by without heat down to 35 degrees due to R-7.5 insulation, two hot bodies, refrigerator heat and power supply when off grid camping. Estimated cost $4200, considering some maintenance and adding boondocking abilities the original price to build was $2800. We've been using it for the past five years.

Beautiful camper/cargo, impressive work and close to what I’m looking to do! Since I’m a motorcyclist and have an e-bike, I’d like to have a ramp door. I have so-o-o many questions…
Where did you get the all-aluminum cargo?
6 x 13 is an odd size, was it custom?
Impressed with your electrical skills!
Is it insulated?
How long did it take, start to finish?
Thanks for sharing it with us!

The trailer new from https://legendmfginc.com/thunder-v-nose/ . The odd size takes in the V-nose. They come mostly with ramp doors but I wanted the cargo for walk in. In future switching the rear doors so I can install a trailer door latch and use as exit. Yes it is fully insulated. I had to remove all the wood side panels to install support frames for the RV windows for after cutting window areas. Bought all the conversions parts right from Amazon. The center hub I call it has all the electrical and plumbing located under the sink area including a in room stand up AC unit. I did not buy the combined AC/Heat unit since I already had the ceramic heater.

IF designing to carry motorcycle in trailer it would be best to do some of the following work for proper payload and tongue weight.

NOTE: A very important point to make here, not only is gross vehicle weight a factor but also the tongue weight which can not exceed 200 lbs. I spent about 3 weeks calculating the weight of every item to be install from wood paneling, fan, sink, electric converter water pump and tanks, etc. I used a couple different website online to calculate the tongue weight by placing each piece from center of axle front or rear. The tongue weight on my trailer is 10% of my gross weight and I try to keep it that way when packing by carrying a cheap bathroom scale with me.

I used a easy to use 3D CAD program called Sketchup to make all my layout changes prior to build. At the end of project which took about 30 days, I was 95% on target from my calculations. I have enough spare to carry two electric bikes inside the trailer. With the concept I had I have the capability to shift center of gravity to meet my Maverick specs.

PS: I do not have electric brakes on trailer and don't think I need them at this time. I can always install later.

Very nice set up, I've seen more and more like that at campsites.
It's the way to go for us cheap F'ers who don't want to spend $15K+ on a regular tow-behind camper. Best thing is, you can remove everything and rearrange as needed.

I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat loaded. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Things that annoy me are the random double honk exiting the truck, having to hit the OK button multiple times, the driver assist always telling me to put my hands on the steering wheel when driving on a straight road, collision alert flashing when another vehicle in front of me a 1000 ft away makes a right turn, the 12Volt battery going into sleep mode if parked a few days especially in cold weather (the battery is only charged to 12.5volts) Recall coming for this from the latest news this week. But hey I love the truck and glad I got it after waiting 480 days! Good color choice, it likes to change colors in different light.

By the way you can find the trailer here. I am sure they extend their sales into Ohio.
