Sounds like another service department well versed in absolutely nothing.
Yeah, unfortunately. Ford would have left thousands of trucks dead like Chevy did with the Colorado if they did OTAs given their software and testing practices. 😂

There are 2 Recalls. I think they are getting the battery recall confused with the backup camera recall.
The service writer showed me the info from Ford. It clearly states what its for.

Well, we got the recall on my 22 EB. This is interesting because for about the last 2 months, the start/stop feature wasn't working. We went on a cruise and it sat for 9 days, went into battery saver mode, it started right up and now after a few days, the start/stop is working. go fig.

Just FYI - the battery saver mode, or if notified on app probably the deep sleep mode - is exactly used with extended non-use time to hopefully give you a battery you can start the truck with later. So that function worked.
Obviously it has no idea how long it's going to sit unused, but once voltage reaches a minimum, or 14 days, ect - deep sleep is it turning the modem off.

Since battery was at low voltage/SOC%, the charging logic probably gave you longer charge and got it back up high enough for auto-start/stop to be usable again.
Wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't last long.
But at least the charging logic is better on the EB's it seems.

Just got the letter in the mail today. Oddly enough, I haven't had any issues with mine. Once I got it, about a month later I started playing around with forscan on it and immediately changed the battery type and charge level from agm/85% to flooded/95%. Along with turning off a few annoying and unnecessary warning stuff.

And since I've also got the backup camera recall to do, which I wasn't planning on doing as I'm gathering parts to swap in a sync4 system. I guess I'm stuck getting both recalls done and concerned with how things will be since I also swapped from the 4" to the 6.5" cluster.

Thanks for this info. It would seem to me that the "charging logic" should always be towards full as possible but apparently there's a reason not to do so. If you have any info. it'd be appreciated.
Anyway, if there's a chance of a replacement battery, I will surely jump on it.

My wife still has her 2017 Escape w/ start/stop and believe it, the original battery but it hasn't stopped for about a year and a half....or so. Maybe, it's probably time to begin thinking about replacing her old battery. Although, her car was the one in the CLE airport parking lot for 8 days and it started up OK.

You have an AGM battery so your battery is not subject to the recall. The start date of MY 23 was 11/14/2022 so you have one of the last MY22 built by Ford. From my understanding, Ford started placing AGM batteries in the Mavericks sometime in October 2022.
Yep, my 24 Eco Lariat came with an AGM,

My 2021 Bronco Sport Base model did not.
Drove it home Dec 15 2020
New battery in at five months at about 5,000 miles,
Second battery was a fight with the service manager. I had to badger his ass non stop for TWO friggen hours.
He gave in saying ok ok I’ll have to pay for it out of my own money. I called him a liar in front of six or seven customers.
That second battery lasted six months.
AGM goes in, my coin.
Three years later I trade it for my Maverick.
Never had another sleep, conserve or what ever mode again.

When you see recent (14-24 yrs recent) methods of alternators backing off full charge constantly - they are attempting to do some form of the method in that article.

Attempt to eek out better MPG by backing off earlier, it just gets worse.

Obviously different makers have different ideas they follow to varying degrees of success.
As Ford as shown, even within the family they must not do the same thing.

I'm beginning to think it's sensors. How much you do and when is based on how you think things are going - if you got that wrong - problems.
"Honest sir, I wouldn't have ordered a full meal and drinks if I knew I only had a $2 bill, I thought I saw a $20" (down in the Ozarks, cash-only - not me!)

Looking online on the other, Maverick Forums...
For any NEW news on the Rear Camera...

I found a post on the Battery Recall:
The build dates of affected Mavs are: Feb 3, 2021-Oct 28, 2022
My MY22 was built, Oct. 31, 2022.. 😌

Our '22 Maverick is very early production, and we've had it over 3 years. It's never failed to start, but I recognized back in '23 already that there was a charging problem, with city driving not adequately charging the battery, AND that it had excessive battery drain when sitting... I installed a 3A battery charger/maintainer underhood, which has masked the problem. I recently replaced the battery, and still see same thing, battery going from fully charged, to 12V (or less!) overnight.

In troubleshooting this, I've turned off the WiFi & Bluetooth routers/modems, and pulled the # 11 fuse to disable the telematics modem. It helped a bit, but not much. I metered the alternator output at the battery as 14.2V, so thats good.

This is NOT just a problem with a cheap battery - there is a problem with the charging system, that's ruining the battery. If you Google at what voltage are lead acid batteries damaged, it says less than 80% capacity (12.4V). Repeatedly starting at voltages lower than that is hard on the battery. There really should be a battery voltage reading on the instrument cluster display.

I'm hoping there's a software update to fix the charging problem, AND that I get a free battery out of the deal.

How do you find production date? I think my '22 was one of the last, from November 2022, but have nothing to verify. I did get the Camel battery recall, and I do have a Camel FLA battery, not an AGM as was set in the as-built configuration. It has been a problem since day one of ownership, never maintaining full charge for long, disableing AutoSS almost 100%, and so on.
So, how do I find the build date? TIA

you don't need to for this recall. the scope of this recall is that if your ecoboost original equipment battery is an enhanced flooded battery, it's getting replaced with an agm.

however, since you asked:
go to parts.ford.com and search by vin and type 'battery' in the parts search box. you'll get this. (the EF battery is no longer even listed as a valid part for the ecoboost, only the AGM battery is listed now.)
