Other than a Lariat or a 2025 with push button start, you don't have to push any buttons to drive the truck.Gen Z and X er's just ignore my comment.. My pet peeve is ALL the damned software control over the entire truck. If I wanted to be made to hit multiple buttons just to get the truck out of my driveway, I would have bought a plane with all the checklist........
At 70, I definitely don't qualify as a z or y.
This is my routine.
1. Walk to the truck. While walking I unlock truck with the button on the FOB.
2. Open door get into truck, close the door.
3. Put key in ignition and start truck and fasten seat belt.
4. Put foot on the brake, turn the selector knob and put the truck in gear, then release the parking brake and drive away.
Optional
6. Push mode button, if I don't want standard mode. I personally feel you should be able to lock it into the last mode you used.
I ignore the seat belt indicator. It will self extinguish in 60 seconds.
