Does anyone know of an after market motor that will work with the maverick but move faster than a wipe every second? I've never had a car with such slow wipers. And before you ask, yes...the wand is all the way up. The high on this truck is like medium on every single other vehicle I've ever had.

As @MichaelG mentioned, you not only can raise the stalk, but you can also rotate a dial within the stalk.

There is no way you have actually activated the "fastest" setting. If you have, and it is still not quick enough for you, then you either have a broken wiper assembly, or your expectations are wildly unrealistic.

Probably does not affect you but there is a pending wiper motor recall for some vin #.

That dial only changes intermittent speed, not the speed of the wipers when you put them on non-intermittent.

Are you talking about intermittent wiper full speed, or actual full speed? Not completely clear. The full speed is fast enough for all but the heaviest rain, IMO. If it's the full speed, how large were the windows on your old vehicles compared to the Maverick? Bigger, smaller?

I was in a heavy rain on 12/26/24 and did remark to wife that I was glad I had put the higher price RainX that beads water better into reservoir. I did only have about 3/4" clear glass behind the blade so a faster wipe would help some. My truck is on the wiper motor check list so maybe it's not quite right.

I challenge you to compare it to a RAM or a GM full size truck lol. I never even got my Maverick or Escape out of the first setting even in heavy rain but both those other trucks would need to be on full blast.

This is one thing FORD did very well, in regards to placement and function of both stalks on the steering wheel column.

You aren't driving in heavy rain if you are only using the first setting. There is no way.

I think wiper speeds have just gotten slower in general over the past 30 years. Or maybe that's me getting old and curmudgeonly. I also remember my driving instructor saying to never use "high" because it was too fast. Maybe some regulatory person agreed. I wouldn't mind a setting above the current 'high' setting though.

There IS a way. I often drive in heavy rain without wipers on at all. RainX applied directly to the windshield is very effective.

I'd agree, driving 60kmh in heavy rain last summer, wipers on high and I could hardly see.

Yes I use RainX also. Helps really well on light rain/mist by beading water delaying the need to turn wipers on at all. Well worth the higher price.

My 55 Fairlane had wipers powered by engine vacuum and nearly stopped at full throttle. So did the 59
Galaxie. My 63 fairlane had 1 speed electric wipers.
