Just pulled a door panel off my 2024 Mav Hybrid XLT to replace speakers. The trim piece above the door panel that covers the wires for the mirror won’t re-engage into the clip in the door. Any one had this problem? See photo. TIA!

Mine did the same thing. It seems the pin/wedge part bends down and doesn't lock in. I think I've need to order a replacement but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

You need to take either a pair of needle-nose pliers or pliers and remove the metal clip that has the rubber surround piece on it from the door panel. Reinstall it on the plastic clip cover, then reinstall the plastic trim piece over the outer mirror.

Built Ford tough, lol

Ah,I'm old, speakers sound great to me lol. Thought maybe factory speakers blew or something.
Only the base Bronco rivals it for worse sound quality. I’ve driven a lot of vehicles over the last 5 years too.

vehicles in the 70,s definitely had crappy factory speakers! We'd yank those out and put in 6×9 coaxials and also replace the factory radio with a more powerful unit, and even a power booster on top of that.

I'm a 90s kid. Every vehicle got new 6x9s in the rear, head unit, amp, and 2 - 12s in the trunk! Doesn't matter if that late 80s G-Body is worth less than the system inside of it, it's gonna hit!

Bah.

Try a 70s GM (including Cadillac).

This just happened to my drivers side one. Thought I broke it but I'll have to give this a try tomorrow and see if I can get that sucker out of there.

Edit* Just confirmed that's it's not actually broken and resetting this clip piece onto the trim piece fixed the issue.
