I talked to a company about doing the turbo upgrades using the stock maverick turbo.

Spec would be about 49mm/66mm compressor without the turbine sides modified.

Would people be interested in these ? This would be slightly bigger than the Corsair and about 22% bigger than factory. Good for another 25-40 hp averages unsure if torque would be changed but with most 93 tunes a stock turbo makes close to 380tq and that seems plenty.

I was quoted around $900+ 2.0 Maverick core

Depending on quality of the rebuild, I’d be in.

That’s doable I think. I like the idea.

Cheaper than a Corsair 2.3 turbo, easier to source, and slightly larger (not to mention you don't have to replace any lines). Yeah, sounds like a home-run.

Easier to source than the Corsair turbo. I would be interested as well. You're talking Comp Turbo in Pomona, right? I would much rather keep my money in the USA however, CR (Canadian) has a Stage 2 coming out later this year which will also use the Maverick core as well.

The CRP released their stage 2 turbo package with a 48.5/61 compressor wheel. It runs $995 for a rebuild. Not sure I want to fool with that right now. Maybe when I'm closer to the end of my warranty.

Definitely interested. Need to get more performance oriented people on this site. Products and testing. My raptor site is very gearhead related. This site the major focus is mudflaps , hideous glue on body parts, and color of lug nuts, floor mats etc.

I got to say the wheel and tire section is great. Great pics and very informative. Good job to those guys.

I feel targeted 😂

But this is the Jekyll vs Hyde aspect of the Maverick being available with the turbo OR the hybrid driveline.

I'm very performance-oriented for some of my other rides, but my Maverick is a hybrid and none of the performance stuff even applies to it.

I'm only doing some cosmetic stuff to make it look the way I want.

Sorry for triggering y'all ... 😄

Ok that's probably why this is posted in the ecoboost section.

it's actually typical of the maverick community at large. we lose 50-60+ percent of the pool of owners right off the bat because they're in a hybrid. then in the ecoboost community, we have a lot of owners who are cheap, risk averse, and generally never modify vehicles at all.

most of the maverick owners that post here about their tuned ecoboosts have tuned other vehicles they've owned, also. some focus st and rs owners, but mostly it's non-Ford.

maybe the lobo will draw in more of the tuning-minded enthusiasts. I'm sure that if/when Ford releases a ST or anything with more horsepower, the performance community will grow.

Hopefully the lobo crowd will help the performance community.

And then there's that percent that doesn't realize they have an owner's manual or weren't paying attention when the dealer told them about the pigtail in the glovebox.

So just to be the guy that asks THAT question. Would it be safe to use datalog to tweak existing Livernois canned tune or would I have to bite the bullet and do a dyno tune?
