If you're going to lose sleep over it, go get it. But I would not sweat it. It's a truck, not a hypercar.

I wouldn't worry about it. My '24 was delivered by the dealership; about 85 miles. They have older retired guys who drive for them as a side hustle. Guy told me it was extra cash to add to SSA and retirement and also a good way to "have something to do." Guys like that usually seem to be professional, respectful, polite, and not very likely to "drive the hell outa' sonebody else's car just because they can." Of course arranging to go get it can make for a nice chance to get away for a day.

Take the delivery. If you saw how all the vehicles are roll tested and driven by the shippers at the factory this wouldn't be on your radar.

Cheers.

1,000 miles below 70mph, without hard acceleration or hard braking.
As my posts have posted on the bottom...of the screen..
purchased from dealer stock. (250 miles from home)

Truck had 30 miles on the OD.. From Dealer lot...
Trip was not quite five and half hours. (Should have been 4.5 hours)
was 70 mph in Indiana (except a half hour 20 mph construction)
was 65 in Illinois and Wisconsin.. (except 40 for another half hour, going though Downtown Chicago and accident just south of ILL/WIS border.
13500 miles as of yesterday... No issues.

OP - Can you pick it up yourself...
Or ask what company/person is being utilized for the trip??

Drove my 2023 1,700+ miles over 72 hours. Something like 12+hours per day at freeway speeds. No negative impacts. I have had my oil tested by Blackstone twice since then. No problems. I know I am a sample size of 1, but the "break in period" thing is a relic of the past.

Based on what? What has changed to make it a relic?
Nothing super scientific. More of a "Some manufacturers don't say you need one anymore." Everyone is of course free to do what they want.

I know that I will be changing oil after the first 1K miles. Most mechanics recommend it. And even if they are wrong, what's the worst that could happen if I do an extra oil change?

When I did my 1,700 mile drive home from the dealership in 2023, I did an oil change within about a week and sent it in for analysis. For sure. You and I are on the same page there. Oil was both "young" in terms of age and also nowhere near the mileage at which Ford recommends you change it.

Oil analysis said what you might expect.

"This sample definitely looks like it was drained from a new engine. Copper and silicon are high, and those are typical wear-in finds. Copper is from brass/bronze parts breaking in, and silicon is from sealers and lubes used to assemble the engine."

It's in the owner's manual, though. I didn't read it until after I'd driven about 100 miles of highway driving before it even had 200 miles on it. The manual is pretty vague, though. It says to avoid "high speeds." How high is high?
