I'm currently waiting for my 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD Lariat. Of course I could not resist the urge to see the new generation in person at my local Ford Dealership. The big item that I wanted to see was the rear differential which appears to be very similar to the AWD ecoboost's verison.

While at the dealership i compared the gap between the upper and lower grill for the beteen a 2024 and 2025 model as I was curious how the license plate will fit. It appears Ford slightly increased that bumper distance so the license plate should sit in between without interference with the radar sensors.

Here are some pics of an XLT

appreciate the photos! What's with that patch on the exhaust pipe?
I hope munro live does a examination of the transmission power take off for the awd - specifically is it a shaken out escape hybrid part or a new design - noting the fiesta and focus premature eol (due to the transmission too expensive to fix with no better part). I assumed rearward of the pto it would be the same as the current awd maverick.

The Hybrid AWD system is identical to the EcoBoost AWD system. They are 100% mechanically the same.

There has been no change to the AWD system from 2022 to 2025.

Thanks, I was curious how my '25 Hybrid AWD would look. I already bought a 2.5" lift kit and wheels and tires for it.
Buys a hybrid vehicle for efficiency....

Immediately torpedoes efficiency with 2.5" lift and larger tires.....

Is this good or bad? Was there any speculation that it would be a different or inferior design?

This is generally good as Ford's driveshaft mechanically driven AWD system is quite proper and proven.

I wish they'd just make the Tremor's (and Lobo) AWD system standard with the upgraded cooling and ability to lock 4WD as well as lock the rear differential.

But overall - Ford's AWD system is excellent and it is a good thing in my opinion to use this mechanical AWD instead of putting an electric motor on the rear axle.

Also- standard awd hybrid vs 4K tow package hybrid, are the suspension pieces (actually beefier) longer durable lasting? Worth 700? I mean I assume yes.

No there is no difference in the suspension should you opt for the 4K package.

You get upgraded cooling for the transmission and engine (depending on drivetrain) and to me - I would not order a Maverick (that can be optioned with) without 4K tow package.

I agree I was just curious if the 700 was worth it in value in any other ways. I agree it’s a must have for me. Otherwise it’s a car in terms usability to me

Anytime you can beef up the drivetrain in any manner on a vehicle it is a must option for me. Everyone has their opinion though and it varies greatly but for the Maverick an $800 option is worth it.

I guess we'll find out soon enough. It's bound to be more efficient than commuting 105 miles per day in my 7' tall F-350 Supercab Long Bed with a giant brush guard and mudders on it. I was fine driving my Nissan Versa S manual, getting 36mpg, until having my left knee replaced. Climbing into the truck ain't no picknick either, but I'm OK once I'm there. AWD and AT tires are needed to get in and out of my property when it's wet. That's 525' uphill in mush at times. A lift will keep it from dragging in a couple of spots. Eventually, I'll have a gravel driveway and a garage to park in. So, if I have to sacrifice 3mpg for a year, I'm cool with that.
