Well, this old girl has 20,000 miles on her as of this morning. She does not live an easy life, from hauling transmissions, axles, engines, and really anything else the shop needs nearly every day. Overall fuel mileage has been 25.8 miles to the gallon, and that is a mixture of 60% in town driving and 40% driving from town to my shop which is 15 mi out in the country.

I did notice excessive Hood rattling, which evidently came from a missing Hood bump stop from the factory which was ordered at 13,000 miles and installed.

The factory brakes, I have to say, are some of the best OEM brakes on a vehicle this size I have ever experienced. I religiously track my Camaro BMW and Mercedes and the braking ability on this truck is pretty damn impressive.

The factory Continentals probably are about 5,000 mi away from needing replaced we've suffered one puncture in the center of the tread, bringing down the spare my employee said, sucked ass.

My only regret is not rhino lining the bed, as we have taken it down to bear metal in spots and it is full of dents. We did add the soft open shock on the tailgate.

AC performance in 95 to 98° South Florida heat is better than my Mercedes E63 wagon. This thing will straight up freeze you out of the truck.

My only complaint is at 80 mph, the underbody fabric noise dampeners rattle against the floorboard. There should be a fastener in the center to stop that which I may add down the line, however my employee drives this and does not exceed 70 mph, so at this point, I really don't care.

I've got 10k on my hybrid and my tires are at 4/32 on the front and 6 in the rear, I think I've got 2-3k left if that. How are you getting 25k out of them?

AWD, they will wear better than the hybrid

The hybrid will unfortunately eat tires as that have 90% of their torque right after you release the brake.

I have put almost 100K on a C-max PHEV, about to need it's 4th set of tires..(I love the acceleration and handling!!!)

The Michelins on my First Edition the specs said were 8-9/32nds new. So I did not bother going to discount tire and buying their certificates for them. I have about 3,600 miles on them and with the much heavier weight in front rotation needs to happen every 4k miles so I may regret not buying the certificates.

Oh, my first edition is also Hybrid. I will check my tread depth and rotate when fronts are 1-1.5/32nds different from rear. Dang may have to rotate more often. How is Ford on tire wear proration if you buy new tires from them. I saw where one dealer was claiming to price match their tires so I will check with my #1 MSRP DEALER. I do not remember if the ones on mine were rated 40k or 50k miles.

I kept the original ties on my 2012 Colorado until 85,000 miles. I can’t imagine not getting at least 55,000 on a new vehicle.

I would check the warranty regarding tire wear on new vehicle. I was told by Ford and Nissan that there is no wear warranty on oem tires, only defect in tire.

Interesting that you speak so highly of the brakes, to me it feels like single piston calipers i.e. weaker than all of the vehicles I have ever driven.

I am at 7800 miles on my XLT Hybrid and I have about 7.5/32nds on mine front and rear. We will have to see how much more they wear at 10,000 miles. New they are only 8/32nds so at 4/32nds you are only half way worn out, so you should at least see another 8,000 miles before they are completely worn out. I rotated mine at 5,000 miles and will rotate them again at 10,000 miles. I would rotate your rears to the front to get the wear evened out.

7/21/2022 Update. I know have just over 11,000 miles on my Hybrid. Did a 3,000 mile round trip to Colorado Springs and back from Central Washington. Just checked tire wear this morning and I now have 7/32nds front and rear. So in 11,000 miles I have only worn 1/32nd off the tires, so if you assume 10,000 miles on 1/32nd tire wear and you can wear down to 2/32nds before they are considered worn out you should be able to run them about 60,000 miles. Mine are wearing even all the way across the tire and front to rear, I did rotate the tires for the second time at 10,000 miles, rotating front to rear. I think a lot has to do with how you take off and stop and how you take corners. Overall I think I am getting good tire wear and have had no problems with them.

Thanks for the review. I'm thinking I will trade my tires in for something better.

In reference to warranty limitations on original Maverick tires I have attached a link. You almost have to be a Philadelphia Lawyer to figure this out and, usually, the warranty may not be worth the bother. Shows warranties for both Continental and Michelin tires.
