The plug was not very tight for both fill, and drain. It took 3/4 of a quart. Drain plug was magnetic and did have very fine metal on it and clutch debris. Nothing out of the ordinary from what I could tell.
I would definitely NOT advise anyone that plans to keep their maverick, follow the rear...
With 31k miles on my AWD maverick, I started noticing a groan while making sharp turns. Being a mechanic and having ZERO faith in ford dealers.
I racked the truck and drained the differential And fluid was dark brown. I refilled the differential with ford 75W disconnect gear oil. 50 miles...
My employee is also hourly and he's an overweight, old fart (we've known each other for a decade now) from KY that does the speed limit to maximize the amount of time in the AC lol. I conned him to move down here and work for. This is his first south Florida summer.
Me, time is money, so when...

The Maverick has 6500 miles on her today and has been a vital tool at the shop. I love this thing, my employee loves this thing and people are still wondering what it is. I think I'm the only Maverick owner in the county.
Anyways, yesterday I had loaded her up with a superdutys rear axle...
