After reading the "What's in your dash cubby hole?" post. I got to wondering about what people are keeping in the space behind the back seat. This is not the under seat storage, this is the area you fold the back seat forward to get to. The factory jack is here and if you have the option the sub is hear too. But there is space for other items.

Right now I just have the factory jack. But I may add some other emergency items.

If you put too much stuff back there it may be hard to latch closed, may really need to slam it.

Mine is currently under the back seat......but I feel like behind the seat might be marginally better. Both locations are not ideal, as I have two booster seats back there for my kids. But they are easy to toss (along with the kids) if I needed to get to the Fire extinguisher quick.

I wish there was a good fire extinguisher that fit in the water bottle holder in the rear door.....

I believe I have the same exact size extinguisher but it's red.

I prefer keeping it behind the seat because I can get to it somewhat quickly (no booster seats for kids) and still have it covered in case it goes off for some reason.

I swear that is the one I got as well (I think I got the idea from that same post). But mine interferes with the door handle. Maybe I was just having a bad day and should try it again. Haha.

I keep a tarp and moving blanket back there because I don't need either frequently enough to warrant their storage in one of the more accessible storage areas.

I'll be adding something like this for fishing rods, umbrellas and other stuff.

I've got an old skinny tin box with a handle originally used for storing slide photos that I repurposed as a small tool box. Fits perfect behind the rear seat. Stored it the same way in my Tacoma for 20 years!

I keep a small toolbox (fabric square case) behind my seat. I have a bunch of stuff under the seat! Only the toolbox behind it for now.

I mounted a 1500 watt inverter behind the back seat. I think the bracket behind there is for the upgraded sound system I don't have, but it's a perfect location for my inverter. Very short run for the cables to the 12 volt battery under the seat.

Ford Maverick What is behind your back seat? inverter

Screwdriver, emergency multi tool, rarched screw and socket set, umbrella.

Strange how the back seat doesn't latch. When you brake hard it can come forward some which keeps me from putting things like fishing rods back there.
