What is behind your back seat?

Screwdriver, emergency multi tool, rarched screw and socket set, umbrella.

Strange how the back seat doesn't latch. When you brake hard it can come forward some which keeps me from putting things like fishing rods back there.

It does latch, maybe you just have too much stuff back there keeping it from latching? I do have to push it closed with some speed and force.

Interesting. It didn't latch before I put anything back there, but I didn't try pushing hard. It wasn't latched the first time put the seat forward. Need to check it out may be my first dealer visit.

On some units it needs some time to get worked in.

Here's what worked for me:
1. Locate the latch on the back of the seat.
2. Put your palm on the front of the seat in the same location.
3. Slam it hard with follow-through.

Seriously thought there is alot of space if u remove the middle seat belt and all the plastic cowling that middle seatbelt has

I had not thought of this as a storage area before, so went out and looked at mine. Moved my jumper cables in a soft case behind the back seats. Frees up a little more space under the back seats.

It also helps to move the bracket farther out from the back wall. I put nylon spacers behind mine, probably 1/8 inch thick. Shouldn't have to do that, but "it is what it is"!

What's behind my XLT back seat is an annoying stretch of bare metal with too many exposed and fragile car electronics and the like. Instead of a protective plastic trim piece. I'd pay real money for an aftermarket trim piece for the rear bulkhead - so I could leave the rear seats down 24x7.
