Spent a couple of weeks in the Outer Banks (OBX) near Cape Hatteras, exploring various beaches with the Mav. Some areas had deep, loose sand, but the vehicle handled it well in both sand mode and normal mode. Once I forgot to lock the rear end and the AWD system handled it flawlessly. Most days, airing the tires down to 19 PSI was enough, though I had to go down to 17 PSI on one occasion. The truck performed impressively in the deep sand. I felt it bottom out a few times, but never came close to getting stuck. Drove along existing tracks at times, and ventured off into untouched areas as well.
