Gear shift hand rest DIY

I built a faux gear shift hand rest for the Mav. I find my right arm looking for a place to rest with the absence of a lever gear shift.

3D printed with some carbon fiber infused PETG...two miniature gas struts and a repurposed skipping rope handle.

Hmmmm.....
I see where vs#2 could have stops with each one turning the dial to P,R,N,L and a thumb button that could activate low. Perhaps the repurposed jump rope handle could also rotate to select the drive mode. Maybe a pinkie button to brake hold on/off?

That's exactly what I was thinking originally ...but that idea devolved into this, lol. I thought of doing some sort of geneva mechanism to convert linear movement into rotational actuation of the knob...but it would get complicated since it would need a shift lock to avoid accidentally knocking the lever.
I think I'll try a v2.0 model with this feature eventually.

VERY INTERESTING.
I would consider something like that in my Maverick. Did it involve any drilling?

No drilling required. I was going to use some silicone or double sided tape to help fix it in place, but the firm fit around the center console embossment seems to be good enough.

That little turn dial and circuitry cost $2.73,
Shifters and linkage cost $43.19

Simple math when your building a profitable vehicle.
