At only 22k miles, I wouldd consider that an unusual failure rather than normal wear. My first thought would be a defective component or assembly issue rather than a design life problem. If the RDU (rear differential unit ) was "fuly" replaced under warranty and the vehicle is now...
I fully understand. That's a long term ownership mindset, Sometimes an early oil change is more about peace of mind and future durability than immediate necessity
The OLM was actually at -2% when I changed it 70-80% highway driving, very little idling, no towing, and no heavy loads. a lot of SPORT mode . That's one reason I was interested in seeing how the oil held up from both a wear and viscosity standpoint.
The current Maverick 2.0L is much more than an early EcoBoost derivative. 10-15 years of development can result in major differences in durability, efficiency, emissions performance and lubrication requirements, even when the basic architecture "appears" similar
Good observation. I also noticed the low viscosity and Blackstone's comment regarding shear. What's interesting is that the flash point doesn't suggest significant fuel dilution. That's why I think trending multiple reports is more valuable than looking at a single sample. PAO/ESTER oils...
I wanted to share my latest Blackstone report and a little background on this truck.
This is one of the early 2025 Maverick 2.0 EcoBoost MPC engines produced before Ford started adding the GPF. The truck currently has 32,092 miles, so in my opinion the engine is still relatively new and just...
For those concerned about rust / salt corrosion, especially near the coast.
As you can see in my photos, the golden / yellow tone you notice on the muffler and the entire underside of my Maverick is intentional.
On day 2 of the truck’s life on NY roads, I treated the entire underside, including...
2024 Maverick Lariat Tremor 2.0 EB runs a 2.25” factory exhaust. Tremor doesn’t get a larger diameter from Ford;
BUT you can/should verify with your Dealer . Be well
Just to clarify my position here: I’m not a manufacturer rep, installer, or exhaust “expert.” I’m simply a Maverick owner who installed and tested the Magnaflow 12255 on my own truck and shared my personal experience with it.
I have no experience with Borla, I haven’t tested it, and I don’t...
Not standard. BG115 is an aftermarket oil additive — it is not required by Ford and is not part of a normal oil change. Adding extra treatments isn’t necessary and can actually dilute the oil’s carefully balanced additive package. It’s surprising that the dealer made that decision on their own...
Still loving it.
After about a year and 21,000 miles, it actually sounds better than when it was new. Perfect fit and tone for this engine, no drone, no rasp, just clean sound. My Maverick doesn’t have a GPF (early 2025 build), which definitely helps. Would do it again without hesitation
Excellent. .'.' $30–40K out-the-door Mavericks are a great option for a lot of people across the country.
Between the price, fuel efficiency, and everyday usability, it’s no surprise sales keep climbing.
I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Maverick sales keep improving year after year — the...
Yes — the WIX WP10019 and WP10019XP (the version with Febreze) will fit both the 2023 and 2025 EcoBoost 2.0 Mavericks for the cabin air filter.
However, the engine air filter is different between the model years:
2023 EcoBoost: WIX WA10981
2025 EcoBoost (MPC...
