Gear shift hand rest DIY

I built a faux gear shift hand rest for the Mav. I find my right arm looking for a place to rest with the absence of a lever gear shift.

3D printed with some carbon fiber infused PETG...two miniature gas struts and a repurposed skipping rope handle.

Yup. That looks seriously silly, but it’s your Maverick. Do what you like!

Suggestion: Keep your right hand (along with your left hand) on the steering wheel as you drive.

It was Cook County, IL - but not a public school. I was so anxious to pass class & get my learners permit! I think my dad noticed my 2 foot automatic driving technique & corrected me. I did not learn how to drive manual for many years after that.

Might I suggest you start at the beginning of this thread and read it for yourself?

Not getting the purpose/utility of this fake shifter/hand rest at all. I like the dial shifter and the uncluttered center console as it is. To each their own.

I did and i thought about it and since i never rested my hand on a grip just the arm rest I was wondering if was something most people do or am i the sterange one lol. ive just never rested my hand on a shifter other than a 4/5/6 speed with a clutch and even then I didnt rest it there while driving(as in open highway) just when i needed to shift

Ive had cars(my Subaru Forester was kinda one)... that the arm rest just wasnt in the right position and may require something more like this but the maverick didnt to me seem to be that whats why I asked

I'm going to get a pilot's license, save up, buy a little plane, and then 3d print a Maverick hybrid rotary shift knob to be installed on my plane.

I like this because I've had stuff fall or roll in to the console and knock the dialturd shifter in to neutral unexpectedly.

Seriously. I love this. Not sure where the designers thought a little turn dial is what the consumer wanted.

They do not consider what consumers want.
