I'll be getting a 2.0 Ecoboost AWD Maverick (probably with the 4K tow package) and want to do a few things to it. IMO 250 hp and 277 ft/lbs is excellent but I'm thinking about maybe a tune and open filter intake to get it to around 300 hp / 340 ft/lbs would be even better. Other than that, I'd love to lower it about 2 inches. I really don't need 8 inches of ground clearance, I'm used to driving cars with 4- 5 inches of ground clearance and then lowering them 1.5- 2 inches. Other than that I'm starting to look into wheels as well. I think it's going to be a fun little pickup. What are y'all planning to do with your Maverick?

The Mav for me is a car replacement with the benefit of a truck bed, and spending mucho bux doesn't fit my lifestyle.

I intend to spend as little as possible, and run the thing until the day it dies. I will install cruise control and a mat in the bed (maybe just plywood), and who knows, maybe I'll get wild and put a cover of some sort on the back.

Not knocking you in any way, so don't be offended. Have fun with the Mav, it looks to be a great "starting point."

Things under consideration

1. Pull out bed platform. So when you want to load/unload you pull this platform out, load it up and push it back in. no climbing up over the rail or climbing in the bed to get to stuff way at the back. Granted it is a smaller bed, and it is lower to the ground. So possibly this isn't necessary vs having one i my F150.

2. Westin heavy duty Grill Guard or as i call it 'Deer Armor' assuming Westin makes one for the Mav.

3. Possible 4-6 inch lift depending on how i feel about riding approx 10 inches lower than I ride now in my F150. I'll have to drive it a bit and see if this would be worth the expense.

4. I do like that tailgate 'stick on' black cover that they've been showing off. Might pick that up.

New wheels, tint, running boards, and I really dig that cab spoiler pictured in another thread. Likely upgrading the stock speakers but I'll first see how they sound (Lariat hybrid without the B&O upgrade). Interested to see what kind of road noise this thing will let in, so Dynamat might be another purchase. Also definitely installing the tailgate damper I saw in a video here so it doesn't slam open.

Im planning on putting 20” wheels if they will fit. Adding some orange accents to the alto blue also

Same, although it will be a bit of an upgrade from our VW jetta as the family camping/snowshoeing/bike carrying adventure vehicle. It's a 2nd car that we don't necessarily need (I work from home, wife has a short commute 2days/week), so I'm not spending a bunch of money customizing it. I'm guessing the wife will use it more often, since it will be the new thing. A pair of steelies with snow tires for the winter is all that is in the plan.

Don’t have big plans for it, the truck will go to the wife once the Lighting starts to seriously take off. But Window Tint, running boards, aftermarket stereo to cover that lame cubby hole, and AT tires once what comes stock wears out.

I went with the Lariat Lux package just so I wouldn't have to do much, but definitely doing some inexpensive things such as:

Window tint
Hood and window wind deflectors
All weather mats
Tailgate dampener
Tailgate letter inserts (need this to help me differentiate my Area 51 from the others)

And depending what's in my budget, I'm considering:

Professionally installed clear bra wrap for the hood, front bumper and fenders, and door handle cups.
Rear cab spoiler
LED bed lighting

Definitely window tint and paint protection film will be first.

I'll do new wheels and tires with a 1-2" drop for sure though. Kind of like the cab spoiler and tailgate spoiler but I'd only go with one or the other. I'll swap out the headlights and tail lights if I get an XLT. Might add a little subwoofer with a custom enclosure under the seat. Never really use the under seat storage I have now anyways. All weather floor mats and a bed cover will top off the plans I have though.

Kind of confused on those that are wanting running boards. I get it on an F150, or a Ranger, sure maybe. But on a Maverick? A running board would only be about 7-8" off the ground on a stock Maverick. I suppose if you have kids or bad knees or are planning to lift it up 6" to get the same cab height as a Ranger. I'd think they'd just be something to knock your ankle on otherwise.

Yep little kids, seems they don’t understand some concepts. But from the sounds of other threads my kids will be in high school by the time we get the truck…lol

Window tint the day after i pick it up for sure, just the rear 3, I'm not a drug dealer . After that I'll probably play around with building wood racks for skis, Kayaks and bikes.

It will depend on what trim I end up going with. If I go with a XL, I'd want to find a way to add back cruise control, dual tone paint (wrap or that plastiprimer and paint that was discussed), LED lighting wherever possible, and look into a decent light street oriented wheel/tire combo to replace the steelies.

Want to keep the weight low though.

And what ever my mind adds as I go....

I'd be interested to see what kayak rack you come up with. I don't really want to drill in the bed rails to mount the one I have. Also not looking to spend $500 on it.

Bushpilot, I'm on your strategy, Grocery getter XL, few add ons, run the crap out of it. My last ford, F150 had 300k when I got rid of it.
