You're probably right about that. RatherBeDrivingaManual posted a set of gold wheels but with much thicker spokes. I'll have to look at those as well as other wheels.
That's exactly my concern when I read the thread title. I'd get some wheels from a vehicle that weighs the same or more not from a vehicle that weighs like 800 lbs less. The Volvo XC90 weighs a couple hundred lbs more but has the same 5/108 bolt pattern.
I'm married with 3 kids 2, 7 and 16 and I'm concerned about the rear seat space. I currently own a 2017 VW Golf Sportwagen and a 2012 VW Routan but want to add a Maverick soon. For rear seat space, I know the Maverick won't match the Routan, but I'm hoping it will at least match or exceed that...
Congrats to all getting that free AWD upgrade! I missed that boat going straight to the AWD, but I'm happy for y'all. I think that Ford handled this really well!
I picked the AWD because while I live in Mississippi, never go off road and will probably never tow, we do have friends and family in Northern New England & Canada.
I actually was serious, however I probably wasn't that clear. My thread title should have been something like "Who's stationed in Germany / Europe ? Will you take your Maverick to the Ring?" For the if and when I get another assignment in Europe, I'll definitely ship the Maverick overseas and...
Is anyone planning to take their Maverick to the Ring? Maybe with a tune, open air intake, a few suspension mods such as Eibach lowering springs, Bilstein B8 dampers, Eibach rear sway bar, some Continental DWS-06 Plus tires this pickup truck might do a 9 1/2 min lap.
Post your times here...
Considering the relatively high coefficient of drag that pickups have vs. cars, I wouldn't think the Maverick Hybrid would be able to go much faster than 80 mph. Maybe 85- 90 mph? Perhaps 95 mph for the Ecoboost? That's my guess. 60 mph is good enough for me.
I think that I can live with with those numbers 22 City, 29 Highway and 25 Combined for a Maverick 2.0 Ecoboost AWD. My 2012 VW Routan minivan sucks fuel at 17 City, 25 Highway and 20 combined.
I was looking at the VW Jetta and the VW Tiguan. We wanted something relatively compact for a commuter that could seat at least 5 and we'd eventually give it to our teenage daughter. The Jetta made sense, the Tiguan made more sense, now the Maverick makes most sense.
As at least one other person has mentioned the AWD will beat the FWD from a standstill because of the added traction alone even if it weighs 160 lbs more. If you're just driving normal and don't need to get into a drag race at every red light changing green, don't go off road, don't tow, don't...
You're right in that the average build will probably be around $28k. That's where my build is at, or just under at $27,550 I think. That's for a base XL w/ steel wheels in Area 51 color (which I think looks great, including the silver steel wheels), 2.0 Ecoboost, AWD, 4K towing package, spray in...
