2022 XL, a couple weeks shy of 4 years on the nose. We read about problems mostly because that's what folks need advice on.
Absolutely nothing to report, just 50k trouble free miles. 30k transmission fluid change, 5k engine oil intervals with full synthetic. I hope you all enjoy yours as...
Looks real nice. Looking forward to getting my own in Dec.
No bed liner here, also don't care about exposed welds/ bolts/holes/etc. It's a truck bed.
I may cut a sheet of plywood to toss in there when I load rocks or wood to keep from denting it up.
It's like any option. If you order a sliding rear window, they don't send the base window as well. And Ford isn't going to include 4 extra steel wheels from the base XL when you ordered the XLT.
I also like the plastic drop in liners. I load up big rocks by hand & can just slide them around on these.
Had drop in liner on my 99 S-10. Pulled it off 12 years later to install a shell, no rust. Some spots where it had worn the paint from vibrations. Also was in an area with rain, snow...
My 2003 Celica GT is a 1.8 liter, 2500 lbs, 140 hp 5 speed and gets about 32 mpg highway. Maverick Ecoboost 2.0 liter is 1000 lbs heavier, produces over 100 more hp, and is said to get around 30 mpg highway.
Pretty efficient, in my opinion.
I'd be interested to see what kayak rack you come up with. I don't really want to drill in the bed rails to mount the one I have. Also not looking to spend $500 on it.
I want a brand new model of my 1996 tacoma: manual locking hubs, manual windows & locks, manual transmission, nearly indestructible 4 cyl engine, regular cab.
Never going to happen, so I I'm happy that Ford is offering something of a similar size in my price range. Is there stuff I'm not...
Sounds good. No telling when we will get our vehicles, so if you get yours first feel free to trade with another XL owner.
Hopefully there will be a buy/sell/trade section here eventually.
Had it at the beginning. Started off feeling like strep, progressed to sinus infection, then was hammered with fever and diahrea.
Lost smell & taste for about a week. Had only a couple of days in bed with the fever, no trouble breathing & no hospital. No lasting effects.
Hang in there...
XL, because I still need enough $$ to buy beer and cheeseburgers.
Would have chosen 2XL so it would match all my shirts, but Ford doesn't offer this trimming.
I have to wait. If I get rid of my celica now, I have months of driving my 96 Tacoma to work. This involves a 12 mile stretch of 6% grade.
It's fine going down to work, obviously. Coming home though, up the mountain in temps around 120 (for real) sometimes, it's 55 mph if there's no...
