Wow that sucks, wonder if the owner had the CP 360 and if that could have helped or not? Does show limitations of the camera and/or poor placement. Couldn’t of happened at a worse spot, the intersection of the bumper, tailgate and may have even hit the part of the fender just below the rear brake light.

I think the only thing could have helped were rear sensors, and that's only on Lariat Lux.

I just picked up my Bronco Sport Badlands. Nice, has better back up camera (I think, as it allows for side view and I have no Maverick to compare), has BLIS, but it does not have back up sensors (which I have on my 2015 F-150 XLT).

I'm thinking of adding a backup sensor, something like this:

Does anyone have experience with these or other alternatives?

Also a hard lesson on opening doors after the fact. most likely the tail gate escaped before, and was damaged when opened. good thing to take note of given that there will be most likely more hits like this due to the bad camera
