Hey auto parts experts, I recently had to have my windshield replaced thanks to the unfortunate impact of a freeway pebble. My concern is that the replacement windshield is missing some of the markings that were on the original.

So, my question is: Is there a way that I can verify that I received the correct replacement part? My Mav is a 2025 Lariat Hybrid, and so was equipped with the Acoustic-Laminate windshield.

Any thoughts?

Yep if they didn’t install one labeled Soundscreen you got ripped off and the cabin will not be as quiet. Did you specify an exact oem replacement?

I’ve had to replace 2 windshield…jeez! ‘22 XL. On both I paid the up charge for a factory original…with the Soundscreen designation.

Your invoice should show that this Ford OEM windshield was put in there:

Windshield FORD, w/heated wiper park w/acoustic

Part number: NZ6Z7803100H

25s don't have heated wipers. 23 was the last year for that.

Pretty sure that the windshield is the same. Call the dealership and have them pull up the part number for the windshield. Did you have the Lariat with a Lux package, or just the Lariat?

Alright, quick update 4 weeks later...

Thanks to the info from smart folks on this site, I was able to research and document the part I needed (vs. the part that was installed). I took my info along with my warranty to Safelite, fully expecting and ready to be firm an confrontational.

The dude at the desk checked his computer and my (recently installed) windshield and noted that they'd replace it, no problem, but it would take a couple of weeks for the part to be ordered.

Couple of weeks later and they arrived at my driveway to install the CORRECT replacement part yesterday. It went pretty smoothly with the minor exception that the tech (who was the same person or originally installed the INcorrect part) was a bit snarky and didn't think there was a difference in the parts other than the decal in the lower passenger side.

So, it all turned out okay, I guess. I could do without the huge hassle and the snarky tech, but I ended up getting a replacement replacement part at no additional cost. But I still think I'll try to avoid Safelite in the future (not that I'll ever get any more busted windshields again.. right?... RIGHT?!)

NZ6Z7803100G is the current part number for the windshield w/acoustic w/o heated park.

E= w/o acoustic w/o heated

F= w/o acoustic w/heated

H = w/ acoustic w/heated

The price difference between the G and E model is approximately $40 MSRP. The heated park models are +$100 from the non-heated.

I had the Sound Screen installed at a Ford Glass Certified shop on my XLT. I just had to give the auto glass rep the exact part# I wanted and I had to call my local Geico insurance rep and explain I wanted OEM glass only in my year old truck . The glass shop sent the quote to Geico and they approved it. I have a $500 deductible so I was going to pay the same regardless, as every option (OEM, OEM w/acoustic, aftermarket) was more than that. If you go the cookie-cutter route (no phone calls) you will get a Chinese aftermarket windshield every time.

All that being said, the difference in noise levels between the acoustic and non-acoustic is minimal in my opinion. Every little bit helps though.

I can’t tell from your profile Is your Mav a 25 or earlier ? I just tried to go through this with my 25 xlt using the same glass company and they made it sound like I couldn’t get the acoustic glass.
