Why FX4?

Kind of regret not getting fx4 package, but than I realized I will never go"off road " .. Do I really need to pay $800 for a sticker? Probably not. Do many plan off road trips,...seems like a very popular package.

It wasn’t worth it to me.

Here are other things to consider, but really it’s up to what you want:
1. Are you a fan of black of rims; I’m not.
2. Are you ok with added weight, as it takes away from maximum load capacity (other threads about max load being lower than desired).
3. Other threads indicate the front skid plate covers the oil filter, so it has to be taken off for each oil change.

Since I am getting Lariat, I already am getting the bigger dash cluster.

Tow Hooks, Skid plates, Rims etc. Thought it was good value and I plan to take it camping so some light duty offroading.

To me the main benefits would have been the added engine cooling and heavy duty radiator. I still didn't opt for it though, I didn't want to lose sport or eco mode and I don't intend to do any off-roading with it.

For me it would have been about the sticker..lol. looks good on the alto blue.

I ordered it for the different front bumper and potential improved cooling
Maybe a little bit of thinking resale
Maybe a little bit of country rough roads

the sticker will be coming off before it leaves the lot

Most likely the tow hooks spot will be the home for the fog lights

The rims and tires are worth $800 alone easy. The package also includes the bigger lariat display screen which is nice There are upgraded rear shocks as well that aren't listed on the website package description. IIRC Ford invalidates your warranty if you go off road unless you have FX4.

It's a great deal if you don't get the towing package because of the radiator and fan.

After reading this thread, Fx4 seems like a pretty good value.

Rims, Screen and tow hooks were the primary reasons for me.

Also, the suspension is great - not sure how it compares with non-FX4, but both my wife and I really like it. Total opposite of my 2019 Ranger FX4 which was bouncy as hell - fun as the driver, but my wife hated it as a passenger.

Tow hooks and skid plates are useful for when I'm offroad. That's about it.

I ordered the FX4 mainly for the Lariat dash screen and the eventual resale value. I will be towing close to the maximum limit and the better rear end ratio should help with that as well. I am not a huge fan of the wheels but figured if I wanted to swap them someone probably would trade down the line.
