I'm also curious.Could you share details on the installation? activation?
Did it require dealer intervention (using Fordscan) to make it work?

Go here for directions on how to connect keyless entry keypad. Note, I think there are other companies that sell aftermarket keypads. I learned that if Ford installs at the factory, then the keypad is connected to the vehicle batter. The other option is a keypad that is taped to the vehicle with an internal battery that is NOT replaceable and last about four years depending on amount of use. Then, you have to buy and program another.I'm also curious.
I don't believe you can do it with Forscan, I'm 99% sure a dealer or at the very least a locksmith with the capability to program keys needs to do it. I believe Ford shows an install cost of $10 to do it on their website, I've been told that it literally takes a technician about 2 minutes to program it with their software and it's not available to do with Forscan.Go here for directions on how to connect keyless entry keypad. I am trying to figure out if go with the ford pad or another AND where to place the keypad on a Carbonized Grey XL.

How much did it cost is this something the dealer does as an add-on?I bought one for my XL, very handy when you want to leave your phone and keys in the truck and head out to play sports, etc.

The part number is right there. kb3z-14a626-aHow much did it cost is this something the dealer does as an add-on?
How do you sync it with the key fob? Thanks in advance.Synch with key fob and stick on the door with double sided tape. Pretty easy. No dealer required.
I believe the battery is good for something like 4 or 5 years at least but wait for it: I believe the battery is not officially serviceable meaning that when it dies but a replacement. Apparently some people have performed surgery with cutting, etc but it sounds a bit shady. So you get a battery version and one day you lock your keys and phone in the truck somewhere out in the wilderness on a hunting trip. The battery on the keypad dies and you cant use it. You are fucke%^ ? Is there a low battery light?
Absolutely, unlikely anytime soon after purchase but it could happenso in theory, if there's no warning before it gives out, my above scenario could happen.
Who really wants to fumble with your phone to unlock/lock the doors? I go out to my mav to get/take something out and it's taken me a while to remember NOT to get/bring my keys with me cause I don't need to with the touch pad which I really like having now.You can do whatever you want but the XL offers a nice clean look without the keypad. I would never add that to my vehicle. You can use the ford app on your phone to lock and unlock your doors as well as remote start your Maverick regardless of trim level.
Looks good. Wonder how it would look on a lighter colour though. If you don't have factory remote start order that one. I got one today. I know I can use phone, but many times going places I leave key and phone kn car, hiking etc...love have keypad! But to each their own, also got hard roll up tonneau put on today, glad I went with that one
