Having your cake and driving it NOW is way better than dreaming/lusting after the next maybe someday honey thing.
If it happens and it’s that much better, buy it! Someone will still want your Mav😎

I've got a preorder in for an Alpha Wolf, if they ever get around to building them...

That thing is tied with the 2023 chevy 2500hd as the fugliest vehicles, evah!
I know! That's why I decided to dredge up a random Aztec reference. Of course there is no truth to what I said, though I do recall that Pontiac did market that vehicle as kind of a Swiss Army Knife "adventure vehicle" because of all the storage space and the ability to set up a tent in the back.

All the "stout will blow the Maverick away" clickbait is put out by Fords Mexico union to slow down demand for the Maverick. They are sweating their cojones off down there trying to keep up.

Used to be. It's getting more real. They just rolled out an actual built prototype at a show yesterday. It's the truck shown in that video I posted.
I'd say their company meets the definition of vaporware. There is a lot written about the company and everyone seems to come to the same conclusion. Alpha Motors = Vaporware. They have existed for nearly 4 years, lots of 3-D renders, and 1 prototype. The goal appears to be to get government money. https://electrifynews.com/business/alpha-motor-convinces-the-govt/

That scheme has been done before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bright_Automotive

True. But, If they can build me an all electric compact pickup for $36K, I'm in.

Plus, vaporware or not, it just might get built before my Maverick :)

I hear GM is bringing back the Pontiac Aztec for 2026. Comes with rear interior storage that converts to a pickup bed and also includes a tent.

You're better off saving your money and waiting on that...
I also heard that it has the option to convert from wheels to tracks for snow operations, or what that just another rumor?

I see a bunch of you tube videos of other make's small pickups coming out that will "crush" the Maverick or whatever adjectives they use but mostly show a Maverick with some other front photoshopped on it. Only real ones I've seen is the little Dodge truck. Where is the competition? Looks to me like the Maverick will be getting a facelift before any of the others even show up.
All click bait until 2025. And it's not like the Maverick will be standing still. They're aware of their potential competition, and reportedly a Ranchero may be coming.

If the Maverick prices keep climbing, I doubt I will buy another one. I am glad I got my cheap (26,800) maverick when I did. By 2025 the base will probably be 29,995 plus shipping :(

GM is best poised for a compact Electric pickup, and count on it being a regular cab. EV's are not held to the same EPA standards as ICE vehicles. They can and will build with a shorter WB if it gets the green light.
