Been driving in the snow and notice front wheels spin occasionally. Does the rear wheel drive on a hybrid kick in when needed in "normal" mode or only in "slippery" mode?

The most common time the rear wheels kick in is when the system detects the front wheels are losing grip. If you are on ice, wet grass, or loose gravel, the "Intelligent AWD" system sends torque to the rear wheels instantly (in milliseconds) to help you gain traction.

Just a simple question??
In your post and in your personal information, there is no mention of 4WD...

The rear wheels also reengage every time you come to a stop, and
stays engaged until you reach approximately 15 to 20 MPH.

On my '24, I can navigate in my information display to Settings > Information > Intelligent AWD, and it shows active power distribution while driving. As other have said, it normally only distributes power to the rear wheels when accelerating from slow speeds.

Yeah, nothing like that on the 2025 AWD hybrid models. The one decent slippery winter day we've had since I bought mine I was able to play with the AWD by getting the rear to swing out a little in normal mode.

For my '22 XLT AWD I can call up the Intelligent AWD screen and see a live view of when it's engaged/disengaged and how much rear drive power is being applied.
