To those adding weight to the bed, I suggest looking into the vehicle's weight balance first, so you know where you are starting. You may find that a substantial front weight bias (common in unloaded pick-ups) that would benefit from a different placement.
Remember that you have 1-wheel drive, 2-wheel steer and 4-wheel cornering and braking. Folks always want more traction, because they fear being stuck. That ignores the greatest and most common danger, braking instability when the rear decides to lead. That can be fun when it's "power oversteer" but no FWD does that.
In snow, a FWD pick-up will likely need a lot of weight in the back to have any kind of handling or braking balance. A 50-50 balance has a lot of advantages once the plows have been through.
