I already have a request in with my local Toyota dealer to test drive a Camry hybrid when they get one in. It's either that, or the soon to be released Toyota small truck with hybrid based on the Corolla Cross.

I need hybrid more than truck, but want both. Will hold out for Toyota or Honda to enter the small truck market I guess. Need to replace my vehicle by end of year 2023, whether it's Ford or ?????

The Cross is my backup plan, also. Didn't know a Cross pickup was in the making. Any info on it?

Just a few videos floating around hinting at it.

I think mine will be to get a 2006-2011 Saab 9-3 SportCombi/9-3X for a "fuel efficient" daily (more fuel efficient than my current daily lmao) and a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro Double Cab/Standard Bed with a bunch of options to basically have all the truck functionality I wanted and brand new vehicle reliability

But I do hope Long McArthur does get enough allocations to get every order built but I think it's hard to say if they will but I think we can all hope for the best but expect the worst.

So yeah that's my plan if I can't get built, what's yours?
I have my XL and love it but have pre ordered this 2 seater solar autocycle, the future is almost here. Link to get $30 off pre order.

I'll probably bite the bullet and put a refurb'd hybrid battery in my old Escape and use that for commuting then buy a Tacoma.

My alternate plan will involve me curled up in a fetal position bawling. 😢😭😢 Nothing else checks off all my boxes, and I'm figuring this truck into my future plans for travel. Hybrid-or-bust for me.

I've been rethinking my position on this after Honda finally released their Hybrid CR-V Build and Price. Factor in the debacle with the guesstimated 6900 pushed back 22 Maverick orders which should be built before my constraint city Hybrid Lariat and I have significant concerns about ever receiving my truck.
I am currently driving a 2018 Hyundai Tuscon while my hybrid crossover DD is getting warranty work completed. I really like being up higher and the fit and finish seems nice. I have begun looking for a reasonably priced CPO '17-'21 Tucson or Santa Fe. Hyundai is offering decent CPO finance rates through 1/3/23. I am not a fan of the current Tuscon body style and a '22 Santa Fe built with all my preferred creature comforts MSRPs over 40k.
I would still consider the newest model ICE CR-V.

I'm thinking an Accord Hybrid because they're not crazily marked up and are relatively easy to find in my area. My '06 FEH is my main daily driver, and I'm not sure how much longer the ailing HV battery in it will last.

I don't liker to spend much time pondering what if's.

I'll cross that bridge if I get to it.

I have given up on Ford - Maverick or anything else. Love looks, size and eco-boost powertrain of Maverick and buying with EAA membership. But, despite a reasonable MSRP if one can be bought, the aggravation is beyond my tolerance.

Solution would be to keep my perfectly fine '15 Ford Transit Connect until Maverick market corrects with much higher interest rates and the lots are full. Or I can wait until Toyota makes a similar sized competitor for the Ford and SC. I am patient and Ford has lost me. I'll buy a goofy looking, high quality Toyota.

that's a good mantra to live by unfortunately for me, it's often too much of a pre-occupation with me currently. Unfortunately.

Probably because I could really use a new vehicle and I have the possibility of the Maverick being built being a carrot and stick to do less about a new vehicle, but being real I dont think the Hybrid Maverick I ordered on 09/19 is going to be able to be built as a 2023 and I don't want to wait until 2024. Not worth it for me, I need a new vehicle by this time next year and if I can get a Civic Hatchback EX-L or Sport Touring in the right colors I like around this time next year I'll be happy lol

AFAIK, there's been no official word on the release of a Mav Killer from any other manufacturer, so getting one by the end of 23 (which is about a year from now) is a very long shot. Plus, no mention of official pricing, so you may not even like the price they set it at. And to make matters worse, there's no idea on availability either. Toyota and Honda usually aren't known for mass custom orders (that could change), so if they did release one, and you liked the price (with the additional mark-up), you'd still have to find one somewhere in the country with the colors and options you liked, and I can almost bet you'd have to settle for something that wasn't equipped the way you wanted it (which might be fine for some people)...

Yup, my Plan B would be to buy a hybrid SOMETHING, for the MPG, then trade as soon as those guys get it in gear and bring new small trucks to the market.

But still holding on to my wish that my Mav gets scheduled. I've stripped my Hybrid XLT to nothing, no add ONS at all, so 🤞🤞🤞🤞.
