I'm not that opposed to plugging the hole
**EDITED - removed mention of "Standard 10-32" value and image as @Ottocycle mentioned it is not the same **

Hope this info helps .. was searching for "antenna thread" to plug mine.
Visited the local Lowes and got what I needed.

Note:
- i did cut the flat head machine screw a little more than half.
- M5-.80 (x16) was too long. If a x6 was available, i would have used that to avoid cuts.

Metric = M5x0.8

This is awesome, thanks for the information. Looks great I’ve been wanting to do this to mine. I’ve just been running antennaless.

10-32 is not equivalent to M5x0.8. The thread pitches are slightly different with the 10-32 being slightly finer vs a M5's 31.5 threads per inch. You will gall the threads. For something like a brass threaded antenna it won't matter as brass is self lubricating, stainless and steel yes.

I don't use that antenna at all though as I run everything from my phone. Reception seems to be poor, but easy enough to put back on the stocker if need be.

Thanks for this info ... i did not know ..
It did not feel like it was the "wrong fit" when i tried it.
I will edit my post to mention just using the metric value.

Same boat...don't use radio, but use my phone as well for everything.
I like all the stubbies I have seen in this thread .. just preferred to plug it for < $4.
I put the OEM antenna back in the glove box in case i need it for some reason.
