And what does it do if I don't have the 4k Tow Package?
It's a source of distraction for those too ignorant to know what they purchased and what it's purpose is.

I take it that you have not read the 56,473,728,190 page owners manual?
My understanding is that Ford no longer spends the money to print an actual paper owner's manual, something that every single manufacturer has provided to every owner since the beginning of time. You'd think that Ford could use all the cash they save, by not printing it, to solve the deep sleep problem, instead of promising the "fix" by the late in Quarter 2 of 2026 (since their promises of a fix in 2025 were broken).

I got an owners manual with mine. I am still trying to figure out buttons and how to with my hybrid XL maverick so I probably fit in with the Duh group of people.

There is one in the user interface you touch every day. Also, here you can read online, or download as a PDF, you are entirely free to print the PDF and stuff in the glovebox. https://www.ford.com/support/owner-manuals-details

If one is computer literate enough to use a forum one should be able to navigate to a webpage and access the OM.

Some of us prefer a physical book (our 2023 Lariat hybrid has one) to an e-reader format.

I'm glad I had a one year wait from the time I ordered my Mav till delivery ...it gave me a whole year to learn EVERYTHING about my vehicle .
I definitely knew more than the salesman ....and then I even READ THE MANUAL !

😁
It's quite shocking what you can learn about your vehicle in the manual ;)

And here's another uniting factor for hybrid and EB's.

When reading the manual in the truck on the info screen - have the truck RUNNING!

You'll get sidetracked on sections that don't apply to your truck - next thing you know you've got a battery warning and low battery.
At least EB's could likely recover.
Hybrid will likely never.

Ha. If hanging out on this forum has taught me anything, it's that there is apparently a great (generational?) divide between those who are comfortable searching the forum/the internet/ YouTube/Owners Manuals, and those who it just doesn't seem to occur to at all. Go figure.

Google Lens is probably bleeding-edge for many around here, but check it out... It nailed it:

Impressive that someone got the 4K tow package and wasn't obsessing over very detail. I feel like I'd be a much more relaxed person if I could do that.

The real question is, how many of us will ever USE the brake controller?
