Tote 40 miles to gallon claim and than not BUILD THAT TRUCK FOR PEOPLE TO BUY. Say they figured more people would want the eco boost. WHAT..MM. WHAT. WHAT.

The hybrid promise is 3/4 of why i am buying this vehicle.

That was the whole purpose of the vehicle and ad . Why the standard model was not the focus of ford is bizarre.

You ordered during an unprecedented global supply shortage. It would be less of an issue if they'd update to newer chips, but it'd still be slow in this crazy demand climate. Your Mav options are patience or Ecoboost.

I wouldn't have noticed this on my tracker unless someone else had mentioned their tracker was showing an estimated delivery date. Hybrid Lariat Lux Area 51 here. Status still not showing 'built' or 'shipped' status but I did confirm previously with a Ford Rep that my truck was assembled and returned from body shop (spray-in liner). I'm not sure if this means that they expect EPA MPG numbers imminently, or if they are actually going to ship hybrids to dealers and let them wait there until OKTB.

The OP here is asking why Ford marketed and priced this truck the way they did if they could only build at the proportions they say they can.

They marketed the 40mph hybrid in such a way that it drove a 70/30 hybrid/EB order rate while not being able to meet that demand. At best they are producing at a 40/60 clip.

Maybe Ford didn't see this coming, b/c they talk to big truck guys/gals all the time?

Whatever happened, they were not ready, and/or unwilling to meet the demand for the hybrid Maverick.

IF they weren't ready to release the hybrid Maverick, then they shouldn't have focusing on it in the marketing campaign.

Of course, there is a possibility the research and design team DID see the demand coming, and the Ford leadership didn't believe the egg heads who told them there would be high demand for a FWD 40mpg truck.

I don't care what the made up reason is. The whole ford narrative has been we built a truck that gets 40 mpg. And now they are saying wait e didn't think people would want that.

Everyone will change their tune when they get their scheduled dates in the next week or two. Hybrid production will continue to increase with every week now.
Don’t say anything you will regret. Ford has feelings too.
