I have a first aid kit, flashlight, battery jump box, extra stock lugs for my spare since I changed to aftermarket wheels, deep well socket and breaker bar for my aftermarket wheels and the most essential is a gun. I keep that in all of our vehicles.

I posted my setup on my build log. Way too lengthy to repost here. I consider everything I carry essential in a vehicle that regularly travels in areas with no cell phone coverage and areas with no traffic. It's a long walk sometimes if you can't self recover.

I think the one referred to makes a very loud noise when operated-- kinda like a 'bang' or 'boom'
