Take the 2.0 turbo motor out of a VW Golf type R and drop into the Mav - SHEZAM ! 315 horsepower!
Frankly, I'm tired of this thread.

How will you know what you have unless you put it on a dyno? Better yet what does it do for you? More hp = equals more fuel consumption. So why buy a truck built for fuel economy then try to make it uneconomical? Maybe as a retired person who just needs to use a vehicle for transporting me and stuff I don't get it. Not a criticism just don't quite understand the engine modifications on a 4 cyl. Maybe it is a generation difference.

Why did they modify underpowered flathead v8 cars post WWII? They were cheap, widely available, and had solid aftermarket support. It's not really that different.
I could work on a Ford Flathead with a few basic tools. Even got one up to 60 mph with a buddy laying on a fender pouring gas into the carb from a Folgers coffee can. Today’s solid state, fuel injected (and/or battery powered vehicles) are different —- A LOT different. Also my Ford flathead v8 produced 85 hp. My Maverick 4 banger turns out 250 hp in a vehicle that probably weighs half as much as my 1936 Ford coupe. Why do I need more?

They sure are. And you can work on them with one tool, plugged into the dash.

You might not. Which is probably why someone else started the thread, and not you. ;)

Just like the title says.

I ordered the Panda stage 2 which includes the intake, CVF intercooler and tune (91 octane).
Will that be enough or do I need to do the dreaded downpipe as well?

Thanks!
A 2017 Ford Mustang Ecoboost. 🙂

That works for me!
I have a whole engine and turbo setup with only 3-4k miles of n it in my garage.
Pulled it out of my rs and it’s been needing a home. It put down 398awhp with nothing more than some meth injection and 93 fuel.

Are you going to try and put the Focus RS engine in Your Maverick or do You plan on Selling it? My buddy just bought a Focus RS a couple months back that has 22,000 miles on it IIRC and He loves it he said the brakes are incredible. He said the engine in it was replaced with the Upgraded block and that they had Head or Head gasket problems?

I actually have no plans for it. I had a long block setup put in the rs. I held onto it hoping to find a rs shell one day. But it may end up being a backup for the maverick if something happens to the 2.0. No real plans just didn’t have anything to do with it.

We'll, it's not a generational thing. I'm 70 and I bought the Maverick because of the 2.0L Turbo engine. Because I have been a motorhead all my life, I've modified every car/truck/SUV I've ever owned to make them go faster. The 2.0L is great. I had two Escapes with that motor. With simple modifications I could leave a 4 foot streak from both tires (I have video proof). I only did it once, just to test how well it all worked and was surprised. Back to the generational thing. If you are a motorhead, you get it. If your not into more performance, you won't ever get it. That's cool. Just watch out if you challenge me and your lane ends. No offense intended, just trying to explain our motorhead madness.
