I looked down to see a panel had come loose. I had to press fairly hard to pop it back in enough that it seems to have hooked back into the hole in the side of the console.

I think “Persian Rugs” are made with an imperfection on purpose. They lay them out on the street and wet them down so cars and pedestrians will trample on them.Hopefully a good sign. If your human your going to make mistakes. So much so Persion rugs when hand made always made an imperfection to show this. So hopefully it's the only thing or mistake and you fixed it. What's not to like? Just keep an eye out to see if it happens again and needs to be addressed at the dealership. Hopefully you don't have to worry about it again.
No they don't but to be human is to error. That's why I was implying hope that's it or all of the imperfection or error. That's why Ford and other manufacturers even small items comes with some type of warranty.I think “Persian Rugs” are made with an imperfection on purpose. sorry, it was just a side comment because I don’t “think” that Ford allows imperfections for charactor.
your two days late…It's a sign of swollen battery, it's pushing the panel out........

I guess it's a perception thing. I'm not perfect and don't expect others to be. I do expect if it's not perfect, the manufacturer will correct it. That's just me.
