Jeez, ordering a newly designed vehicle is the first two years is always a problem. Especially if loaded up with gee-gaws. Fortunately My stripped 23 Maverick has had NO problems after 5k miles.
Gotta say I was problem free and very happy with my car and not so happy with my local dealership until now. It's not the worst issue, I've seen first year release of cars have far worse problems so I'm counting my blessings!

You got the $70 smokers package?
Cant tell if thats a joke I'm literally using the 12v cigartte lighter input thats on the dash to power the dash cam. I haven't touch any of the electronics especially ones that would cause the AAC system to fail.

Ok you are using the dash cigarette style PowerPoint and not the optional actual heavier cigarette lighter socket that came with an ashtray for $70. 😊

I have not touched or modified this car, thoughts of tapping things into it for the front dash cam did come to mind but I purposefully routed everything to a cig lighter just so I wouldn't have to get into it with the dealership.
I was cursing down the high way on a nice summer day, was on the road for about 30 minutes when I get a warning on the dash "Front Camera Fault. Service Required"

Now adaptive cruise and front collision warnings don't work and the worst part is the warning pop up every 5-10 minutes when I am leisurely driving. I've heard the horror stories about issues and I still am waiting to get parts for the recalls I need to get done for the car but now this!

Has anyone run into this before?
I have seen someone on the forum with warnings saying there are obstructions to the camera or sensor but my message is different, it clearly says camera fault.

Also check the upper center windshield the camera looks through for bird droppings or bug splatter. Did you put any tint across the top 3-5" of windshield?

Adding to the fuses and potential blocking of the camera, I've had this issue happen a few times as well under very specific, easily repeatable conditions:

A few times at a specific time of year where I'd be driving into the sun for 10+ minutes, which due to the season would be at a shallow angle shining blindingly into the windshield.

Another couple times at nighttime at a very specific location on a highway where IR traffic monitoring cameras with very powerful IR strobes (powerful enough to see the pulses with the naked eye) had just been installed over the opposing traffic's lanes. One time at the exact same spot the automatic emergency braking went off and applied full brakes, thankfully no one was behind me.

I conplained to our equivalent of the DMV and they had the cameras aimed differently and reduced the IR power, now it has never happened there again.

It seems extremely bright sources of visible and IR light might cause the signal processor to disable the camera, perhaps to prevent unintended braking events like mine. Every time it happened the camera was back to normal after turning the ignition off then back on.

:ROFLMAO: no s*

But you just never know until you know which fuse - directions in manual unclear. Not going to touch it for now and see if ford will deal with it but im not hopeful. Not sure how dealerships are in your area but mine are terrible.
I looked in the manual and it states fuse 34 (under hood) is for the camera system. I'm not sure how much clearer the directions could be.

Not a joke, they are referring to the optional package that changes the adapter to a higher power one that enables using a cigarette lighter. Shouldn't matter though because the voltage regulator should only supply the power you need, no more. But the pic shows you have the standard adapter.

As other people have stated, there are many things that can replicate this and it's re-occurring due to those things. If you take it in, let us know what they say.

Another thought: if you replace windshield or put IR reflective coating over where camera looks through the camera will have to be recalibrated. I don't know but something in washer fluid might even change the amount of light that passes through windshield?

And yet another thought....
Did you put a ceramic coating on your car and if so did it get on glass in front of camera and too much light is being reflected away from camera? Or is the hood so shiny that it's blinding the camera?🤗

I think this problem may have been resolved. OP is no longer "cursing" down the road, says an occasional prayer and has not experienced the problem since!:teehee::like:

I am dealing with a front camera fault. This is the 4th or 5th time it had failed in less than a year. The dealership and Ford do not know what to do. They replaced almost everything and wrote a custom program for the camera based on my tire size, lift, and typical loads. It still faults out leaving me with no cruise control or emergency braking, etc.

Almost at my wits end

I only get the front camera message and I can clear it but the auto brights wont work? I've tried everything but reluctant to take it to the dealer because they seem to be guessing as much as me
