FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS!!!!
The water that is retained behind the bottom seal is very concerning! Obviously this is a future Rust issue for those of us in the North.

I just drained both my rear doors, after driving in the rain!

Has anyone gone to a dealership for this issue?

Thank you PeteyPyro. Keep us informed of your ideas that you noted……..”As Maybe a modification, such as sticking a skinny coffee stirrer/straw or WD-40 straw inbetween the hole and the rubber tit that presses into the hole, sort of like a stent/drain after surgery? I'm gonna try that and report back on my engineering efforts. Anybody have other thoughts?”

If it's a "major design flaw" shouldn't most of us be experiencing it? I do not have water intrusion thus far.
After communicating seven months, our request for a new replacement of our 2022 Maverick from the black mold smell, Ford Corporate finally did the right thing for us. Brand new 2024 Maverick.
But yes, this was a huge flaw in the programming for the sealing of the windshield on the production line. Poor quality checks being performed, full lack of irresponsibility.
I pushed this part in every email I communicated with Ford Corporate. As consumers, every one should push Ford Corporate to make this right for all these issues of black mold.

In post #5 of this thread, it looks like @Ford Motor Company is looking for more information.
Curious to know if there was any resolution to this. Being a year later and all.
I've been keeping hand towels positioned over the drip area to catch most of the water that runs into the cabin when the door is opened, but that collection of water should have been identified during design and testing.
Just sayin'

That account is no longer active, Ford withdrew its social media team from the site on Jan 1, 2025.
