Absolutely unacceptable on their part. I got rid of the truck. The lack of accountability and poor customer service really upset me and I refuse to pay out of pocket for something that I didn’t cause.
Agreed. We have counter offered to Ford with zero out pocket. We are firmly standing the principle of this issue.

The dealer and customer service essentially told me there was nothin they could do. Except discount the repair.

Well, probably be one of the last updates unless my email from Mr. Farley is answered.
I got the spider man meme all day today.
Ford assistance told me the dealer opened an assistance request offering half off (still 1700) and since they did that, they were unable to do anything.
I told them I didn’t authorize that from the dealer and why can’t they just delete it and offer something else. The email specifically said that since that was open at the dealer they were unable to do anything.
Insinuating that if it weren’t open they could do more.
The dealer told me that is absurd and that they are the Ford Motor company and could overrule anything they wanted.
The ford assistance then said that if I authorized the dealer to do the repairs at $1700 then they could get me a rental, which I would have to pay out of pocket for and they would reimburse.
Once person also told me to keep my receipt in case in the future they came out with something that would pay me back.
I’m over it. I will be trading/selling this truck out of principle.
I will be going with another brand that will show better customer service.
What is Farley's email address? I want to copy him on some correspondence emails with Ford Reacquired Vehicle department.

Were you able to sell or trade it in?

It is VERY easy. Entered in the vin, mileage all the normal stuff and they give you an offer really quick. Then you can accept it or not. If you accept you can drop it off at one of their locations or they can pick it up. They will give you a check or electronic deposit the funds. Do the electronic deposit. Check will take about 10 days for bank to make funds available

Very sad that you guys had to go through this. When I was more active in the forums, I would try to warn everyone who purchased a Maverick to test it out for leakage so they didn't find out months/years later when exposed to the rain.

I'm going into the dealer today for a recall, to get the CV axles looked at, and for the water leak. My floorboards are drenched and mold is already starting to show up on the passenger side. Only good thing is I'm still under 36k miles so they "shouldn't" be able to give me any BS about partial assistance. I don't have another vehicle so I hope they give me a loaner or I will make it clear at least that any further damage is on them. I already had to wait about a month for the appointment and explained the safety issues, but they could care less. I also had a weird glitch where the headlights would come on and/or flicker at night when the car was off. Woke up in the morning to Stop Vehicle Safely screen. Dealership still didn't care.

This absolutely sucks. If mold is already visible, it's spores are likely all over the cabin. This isn't just about drying out the passenger floorboard anymore, there is likely to be a smell unless a very thorough cleaning is done. I hope the dealer really helps you with this.

Yeah, on especially hot days it smells like dog piss in the truck. They are still "diagnosing" it at the moment so we'll see what they come back with. I'm not going to be satisfied with "We dried it out for you"

Definitely. They'll likely need to shampoo all fabric items and literally wipe and disinfect everything else. Also, they will probably need to run an ozone machine in there for awhile. Ugh, so sorry man.

Ozone generator will kill all mold spores and eliminate all harmful bacteria which is what causes smell.
